Apple to bring iTunes Movies and TV shows, AirPlay 2 support to Samsung’s 2019, 2018 TVs

Samsung Electronics has announced that it will offer iTunes Movies and TV Shows and Apple AirPlay 2 support on 2019 Samsung Smart TV models. The company will offer support for 2018 TVs through a firmware update. The new iTunes Movies and TV Shows app will debut only on Samsung Smart TVs in more than 100 countries. Apple App Store recorded $1.22 billion revenue during holiday week

Apple has announced that App Store customers worldwide set new spending records over the holidays. The company says that the App Store spending topped with a record $1.22 billion between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Apple lowers revenue guidance for Q1 2019 citing fewer iPhone upgrades in China

Apple has announced that it is revising its guidance for Apple’s fiscal 2019 first quarter, which ended on December 29. The company expects total revenue of approximately $84 billion, gross margin of approximately 38%, operating expenses of approximately $8.7 billion. Apple has announced that John Giannandrea is named as the company’s executive team as senior vice president of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Strategy. Qualcomm granted preliminary injunction to ban sale and import of Apple iPhones in Germany

Qualcomm has announced that the District Court of Munich found that Apple is infringing Qualcomm’s intellectual property for power savings in smartphones and granted Qualcomm’s request for a permanent injunction, ordering Apple to cease the sale, offer for sale and importation for sale in Germany. Apple acknowledges some 2018 iPad Pro units that ship with a bent chassis are normal

Apple iPhone XR demand lower than expected, shipment estimations slashed: Kuo

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple iPhone XR demand has been lower than expected. Kuo has slashed his overall iPhone shipment forecast by 20% for the first quarter of 2019. Qualcomm now seeks to ban Apple iPhone XS and XR in China

After Qualcomm was granted a preliminary injunction to ban the sale and import of Apple iPhone 6s through iPhone X in China, Qualcomm now plans to file for an injunction on the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR in China. Apple to open new campus in Austin with $1 billion investment

Apple has announced that it will set up a new campus in Austin with an investment of $1 billion. The company also announced plans to establish new sites in Seattle, San Diego, and Culver City and expand in cities across the United States including Pittsburgh, New York and Boulder, Colorado over the next three years.
