OPPO today announced OPPO R11 and R11 Plus smartphones at an event in China. The R11 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display with 1.6mm narrow bezels and 77% screen-to-body ratio and the R11 Plus comes with a 6-inch 1080p display. Both these have a 16-megapixel camera with wide-angle lens (f/1.7) and a 20-megapixel secondary camera with telephoto lens (f/2.6) along with Qualcomm’s Spectra 160 ISP for optical zoom, Hybrid Autofocus and other camera features. Google released Android O first developer preview back in March, at the Google I/O last month, it released the second developer preview and also opened registrations Android O beta. Now it has released Android O developer preview 3 with the final Android O APIs (API level 26). It also revealed that Android O will be Android 8.0. OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 4.1.5 update for the 3 and 3T that brings new push notification feature for important information from OnePlus along with updates to its apps, several bug fixes including fix for VoLTE issue on Jio SIMs and optimizations for battery, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and more. Google has released Android distribution numbers for the month of June. Android Nougat adoption is increasing and is inching closer to 10%. The latest Android OS is now present on 9.5% of all Android devices of which Android Nougat 7.0 takes 8.9% share while Android 7.1 is owns just 0.6% even after seven months.

At the Google I/O 2017 Stephanie Saad Cuthbertson, Director, Product Management Google announced that Android O will bring more fluid experiences, as well as improvements to what the company call “vitals” like battery life and security. Android Vitals focuses on optimizing battery life, start up time, graphic rendering time, and stability. On Google Pixel boot time will be 2x faster in Android O, compared to Android N.
