The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo (GT-I9060), that went official earlier this month is launching in India next week, according to Mahesh Telecom . It has a 5-inch (800 x 480 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It also comes with dual SIM support and has software features such as Multi Window and Pop up Play. Motorola Moto G Dual SIM gets Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in India

Motorola has finally started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Dual SIM Moto G users in India. Motorola promised that the India users would get the update in a few weeks, at the launch, earlier this month. The Android 4.4.2 update was first released for the single SIM US variant first, back in December and it started rolling out in Europe, again for the single SIM variant last month. Intex Aqua Octa Camera Samples

Intex launched the Aqua Octa, India’s first MediaTek Octa-Core powered smartphone last month. We already brought you the unboxing, benchmarks and the photo gallery of the Aqua Octa. Here are the camera samples. It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and full HD video recording, but the 5-megapixel front-facing camera can record videos only at VGA resolution. It has a  6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali 450-MP4 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Lenovo Vibe Z Unboxing

The Lenovo K900 was the Chinese company’s first flagship launch in India. It had really good specifications for a high end phone and launched at a competitive price, only to then get lesser and suddenly turn into a really good value for money device. We had been waiting for its successor for quite a while now, and now it has come in the form of the Lenovo Vibe Z, which aims to fill the gap the K900 has left in the Indian market. The Vibe Z was announced in India just a couple of days back, at an event which we attended. It has been priced at Rs. 35,999, which is very close to what the K900 was launched for. We had taken a good look at the Vibe Z aka K910 at the Consumer electronics show in Vegas, but the phone was announced in China way back in October. Sony Mobile started rolling out the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra back in December, the  Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and the Xperia Tablet Z got the update at the end of December. It rolled out the Android 4.3 for the SP in several countries including India earlier this week, now the company announced that it is also rolling out the Android 4.3 update for the Xperia T, Xperia TX and the Xperia V. Intex Aqua Octa is the Indian company’s foray into the huge screen 6″ phablet market, and is also one of the first devices to sport the Octa core processor from MediaTek. We had unboxed it earlier, to show you the box contents and a quick overview of the device, but this time around, we will show a walkthrough of the phone in clear photos. This 6 inch device from Intex is pretty unique. It looks like a really slim unibody phone but actually has a removable back cover and a replaceable battery, while managing to be light at the same time. Rightware launched the Basemark OS II cross-platform benchmarking tool for Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows Phone 8 last month. Today it updated the Basemark X cross-platform benchmarking tool to version 1.1 and has also released it on Windows Phone 8. Basemark X that was released last year was based on Unity 4.0 gaming engine, the version 1.1 Unity gaming engine version 4.2.2. This also adds new features and a new test called Hangar. As usual you get configurable settings and score breakdown in results screen in the full version. Now the Black Galaxy Grand 2 is available in India from the official Samsung India eStore. It has a leather-like back cover similar to the white version. HP has launched Slate 6 VoiceTab and Slate 7 VoiceTab, the company’s latest phablets in the VoiceTab series, as it promised last week. The HP Slate 6 VoiceTab has a 6-inch HD IPS display sporting a 1280×720 pixels resolution and the HP Slate 7 VoiceTab will have a 7-inch HD 1280×800 pixels IPS display. These devices would be powered by a quad-core processor and run on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). These also have dual SIM support, dual front-facing speakers, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, but the Slate 7 VoiceTab lacks LED flash. HTC Desire 8 with 5.5-inch display, 13MP camera leaks

HTC Desire 8, the company’s upcoming mid-range smartphone has leaked. This smartphone destined for China has a 5.5-inch screen (resolution is not available yet), has dual SIM support and packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Even though it has a 13MP rear camera, it doesn’t have Ultrapixel technology like the HTC One series. It also has dual front-facing speakers and is likely to come with on-screen touch buttons, eliminating the capactive touch buttons. Microsoft reportedly discussing support for Android apps on Windows Phone and Windows

Microsoft is in discussions to add support for Android apps in Windows and Windows Phone, according to a report from TheVerge. Sources have told TheVerge that Microsoft is serious about bringing Android apps to both its platforms, but the discussions are still ongoing and nothing is concrete yet. The ongoing talks currently point to adding Android apps in the Windows Phone and Windows Stores, according to the report, which will inadvertently boost the app numbers, something that Microsoft really needs. Windows Phone and Windows have been second thoughts for any new developer looking at developing an app, and at most of the times, there are not enough resources to dedicate for a third platform, so will Android apps support on Windows and Windows Phone make sense?
