Axis bank is the now going social and making it easy for users to transfer money to their loved ones on the go. The third largest bank in India will now allow its customers to send money through several platforms, including WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, email and SMS, through mobile-based application Ping Pay.

Whatsapp comes to PC via the browser, no support for the iPhone app yet

Whatsapp, the world’s most popular instant messaging platform, now comes to the PC, via the web browser route. The web client, which currently works only on Google’s Chrome, will let you chat with your friends right from the comforts of a browser, a long standing request finally fulfilled by the company. The functionality currently works on the updated version of Whatsapp on Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry devices, while iPhones are not getting the feature due to “platform limitations”, according to Whatsapp chief Jan Koum.

UK PM wants to ban WhatsApp, Snapchat, iMessage and others

Following on from the devastating terror attacks in Paris over the past week, the UK Prime Minister David Cameron has announced he could move to block encrypted messaging applications if he wins the next elections. In essence, this means that apps such as WhatsApp, iMessage or Snapchat that offer “methods of communication that cannot be read by security services even if they have a warrant” could be targetted. WhatsApp hits 700 million users, adds 100 million new users in four months

WhatsApp messenger is continuing to multiply the user base and the popular messenger now has 700 million monthly active users. 250 million more users have been added since February 2014, when Facebook announced plans to buy WhatsApp for $19 billion.
