When Xiaomi announced the Mi Max last year, nobody expected it to be particularly popular. The gigantic size was expected to be a deterrent but as it turns out, the phablet saw massive uptake amongst users. Serving as a good mid way ground between carrying smartphones and a tablet, the Mi Max delivered battery life, a large screen and a generally great experience in a well priced package. One year on, Xiaomi is back with the Mi Max 2. With a bigger battery in roughly the same sized package, the Mi Max 2 is already looking quite exciting but is it worth an upgrade? Xiaomi Mi Max 2 now available from Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, Tata CLiQ and offline retailers in India

Xiaomi launched its Mi Max 2 phablet in India last week for Rs. 16999 and the phone went on sale through Mi.com and Mi Home during Mi 3rd anniversary sale last week. Today from 10AM, the smartphone went on sale on Flipkart, Amazon, Tata CLiQ and Paytm mall online as well offline stores – Poorvika, BigC, Sangeetha, Croma, Lot, Vijay Sales, eZone and Reliance Digital. The phone is already out of stock on Flipkart and Paytm mall online, but you can get it from Amazon, Tata CLiQ and offline stores. Xiaomi schedules new Mi smartphone launch event in India on July 18, Mi Max 2 expected

Xiaomi Big is Back July 18

Xiaomi just sent out invites for the launch of its next Mi smartphone in India on July 18th. The invite says “Last year, we made ripples with this new category and now it is back. Join us in witnessing the return on ‘BIG’ at Xiaomi media briefing” that clearly hints at the launch of Mi Max 2, successor of last year’s Mi Max.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 with 6.44-inch 1080p display, 5300mAh battery announced

Xiaomi just announced Mi Max 2, successor of last year’s Mi Max phablet at an event in China. It packs the same 6.44-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display as the predecessor, but this has 0.7mm ultra narrow bezel on the side. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor, has an improved 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, 1.25μm pixel size, PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. Specifications of Xiaomi Mi Max 2, the second-generation phablet surfaced back in February. Last week a Xiaomi smartphone condnamed Oxygen surfaced in benchmarks. This is said to come with the same 6.4-inch 1080p display, but this is said to be powered by Snapdragon 626 processor instead of Snapdragon 650 or 652 on the Mi Max variants.
