Apple said to be working on 5th-gen iPad mini and entry-level 10-inch iPad for 2019

According to sources in the Apple supply chain, Apple is said to be prepping a new fifth-generation iPad mini for the first half of 2019. Apple promotes AI Chief John Giannandrea to senior executive team

Apple has announced that John Giannandrea is named as the company’s executive team as senior vice president of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Strategy. Giannandrea who joined Apple in April 2018 oversees the strategy for AI and Machine Learning across all Apple products and services, as well as the development of Core ML and Siri technologies. Qualcomm granted preliminary injunction to ban sale and import of Apple iPhones in Germany

Qualcomm has announced that the District Court of Munich found that Apple is infringing Qualcomm’s intellectual property for power savings in smartphones and granted Qualcomm’s request for a permanent injunction, ordering Apple to cease the sale, offer for sale and importation for sale in Germany. Apple acknowledges some 2018 iPad Pro units that ship with a bent chassis are normal

Apple iPhone XR demand lower than expected, shipment estimations slashed: Kuo

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple iPhone XR demand has been lower than expected. Kuo has slashed his overall iPhone shipment forecast by 20% for the first quarter of 2019. Qualcomm now seeks to ban Apple iPhone XS and XR in China

After Qualcomm was granted a preliminary injunction to ban the sale and import of Apple iPhone 6s through iPhone X in China, Qualcomm now plans to file for an injunction on the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR in China. Apple iOS 12 is on 72% of devices from last four years

Apple has announced that 70% of eligible iPhones, iPod touch devices are running on iOS 12 as of December 3rd, 2018. The adoption rate is up 10% in just five weeks; as of October 29th, iOS 12 was installed on 63% on all eligible devices.
