Apple has hired Soonho Ahn executive from Samsung SDI Co., which is the battery making affiliate of Samsung Electronics Co. This move will help Apple lead its own battery department. Soonho Ahn joined Apple in December as global head of battery developments, after working as a senior vice president at Samsung SDI since 2015, according to his LinkedIn profile. Samsung Electronics has announced that it will offer iTunes Movies and TV Shows and Apple AirPlay 2 support on 2019 Samsung Smart TV models. The company will offer support for 2018 TVs through a firmware update. The new iTunes Movies and TV Shows app will debut only on Samsung Smart TVs in more than 100 countries. Apple lowers revenue guidance for Q1 2019 citing fewer iPhone upgrades in China

Apple has announced that it is revising its guidance for Apple’s fiscal 2019 first quarter, which ended on December 29. The company expects total revenue of approximately $84 billion, gross margin of approximately 38%, operating expenses of approximately $8.7 billion.
