Infinix has launched Smart 6 Plus, the company’s latest budget smartphone in the Smart series in India, after the launch of Smart 6 earlier this year. The phone has a 6.82-inch HD+ screen with a 5MP camera inside the notch, is powered by Helio G25 SoC with 3GB of RAM and 3GB of virtual RAM and runs Android 12 (Go Edition). Twitter Blue subscription gets a price hike

The price of Twitter Blue, the social network’s premium subscription service, is going to increase. It’s been a little over 8 months since its launch. A few new capabilities were added to Twitter last year with the debut of Twitter Blue, which was available to anyone who was willing to pay $2.99 per month.  The service will now cost $4.99 per month in the US. Samsung denies rumors of discontinuation of Exynos chips

While reports remain that Samsung may forgo Exynos power for its flagship phones in 2023 and possibly 2024, the firm has denied accusations that it will discontinue its Exynos chipset operation. According to the Korean Mail Economic Daily, the company claimed during its Q2 2022 conference call that “it is not true at all” that it will discontinue operating its Exynos business. Apple reports 10.5% decrease in profit, despite June quarter revenue record

Apple has reported latest quarterly revenue of $83 billion, an increase of 2% from a year ago, setting a new June quarter revenue record, thanks to strong iPhone and services revenue. However, it posted a net profit of $19.4 billion, a decrease of 10.59% YoY and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $1.20  for the financial year Q3 2022 that ended June 25, 2022. Global smartphone shipments declined 8.7% YoY in Q2 2022: IDC

According to tentative data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, the number of smartphones shipped around the world dropped 8.7% from the same time last year to the second quarter of 2022 (2Q22). This is the fourth straight quarter that the smartphone market has gone down. Shipments fell to 286.0 million units, about 3.5 percent lower than expected. ASUS ZenFone 9 with 5.9″ FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, up to 16GB RAM, IP68 waterproof body announced

ASUS just introduced the Zenfone 9, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in an online event, has it had promised. It has a 5.9-inch Full HD+ OLED screen with 120Hz refresh, same as the predecessor, but this is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with up to 16GB of RAM and has 1727.17mm² vapour chamber cooling with 230% larger attached area compared to the predecessor. It runs Android 12 with ZenUI 9, but the company only promises 2 years of OS updates and security patches. Vi demos 5G download speed of up to 1.2Gbps at Bengaluru’s MG Road metro station

As part of a pilot phase by TRAI, Vodafone Idea (Vi) is testing how street furniture can be used for small cells and aerial fibre deployment at Namma Metro, Bengaluru. Samsung Q2 2022: Best ever Q2 profit since 2018

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q2 2022 that ended June 30, 2022 in which the company posted 77.2 trillion won ($59.3 billion approx.) consolidated revenue, up 21% YoY which is a second-quarter record. It made an operating profit of 14.1 trillion won ($10.83 billion approx.), up 12% YoY, and this is the best in April to June period since 2018.
