Samsung launched several budget Android smartphones – Galaxy Star 2, Galaxy Star Advance and Galaxy Ace NXT smartphones in India. Today the company has launched a budget smartphone called Galaxy V (SM-G313HZ) in Malaysia. It has a 4-inch WVGA screen, 1.2 GHz processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat), 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Xolo announced the Win Q900s, the company first Windows Phone device running Windows Phone 8.1 back in June. It is now on sale in India for Rs. 9,999. It weighs just  just 100 grams, and Xolo claims that it is the world’s lightest Windows Phone smartphone. It has a 4.7-inch HD display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM 8212) processor with Adreno 302 GPU, a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Samsung buys mobile cloud company PrinterOn

With an aim to bolster its mobile cloud services, Samsung has acquired mobile cloud company PrinterOn for an undisclosed sum. As a result of the acquisition, the Ontario, Canada based company will continue to operate as wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Canada.

Sony E-Mount camera for smartphones leaked ahead of IFA launch

At the time of announcing its IFA 2014 event, Sony teased a new smartphone camera lens. Today images of the ILCE-QX1 E-mount camera has surfaced online ahead of the official event tomorrow. It is an E-mount camera module with interchangeable Alpha lenses, unlike the QX10 and QX100 camera lenses that were unveiled at IFA last year.
