Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G with 50x zoom and MIUI 12 to be announced on April 27

Xiaomi today announced that it will introduce Mi 10 Youth Edition (Lite) 5G smartphone and MIUI 12 at an online event in China on April 27th. The Mi 10 Lite 5G is the cheaper version of the Mi 10 that was introduced in Europe last month, but the company said that it will go on sale only in early May.

Coming to MIUI 12, this is the next major MIUI upgrade that comes just after 6 months after the release of MIUI 11. Xiaomi shared MIUI 12 teaser, which hinted towards even more visual changes compared to MIUI 11. It stopped MIUI 11 Beta development in China last month.

Screenshots from MIUI 12 UI surfaced recently revealing revamped Refresh Rate Settings, Focus Mode and more.

Coming to the Mi 10 Lite 5G, the phone has quad rear cameras, same as the global version, but the China version will likely come with a periscope lens instead of a macro camera offering 5x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom. It might come a different main camera, retain the 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth sensor.  It is also expected to come with 6.57-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, Octa Core Snapdragon 765G SoC, 16MP front-facing camera and In-Display fingerprint sensor.

We should know more details when it goes official next week.
