Redmi Note 8 Pro will be powered by Helio G90T SoC confirms MediaTek [Update: Will offer better performance than Snapdragon 710]

Update: August 23, 2019 – Redmi GM Lu Weibing today posted a comparison chart that shows AnTuTu Benchmark 8 comparison between the Helio G90T, Kirin 810 and Snapdragon 710. This shows Helio G90T powered Redmi Note 8 has scored 283,333 points and is placed well above the Kirin 710, but it couldn’t beat the Kirin 810, which is slightly better. Snapdragon 730G should offer almost similar AnTuTu 8 scores as the Kirin 810.

Earlier: Today Xiaomi’s Redmi brand confirmed that it will introduce the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro smartphones in China on August 29th. Now MediaTek has confirmed that its latest Helio G90T 12nm SoC will power the Redmi Note 8 Pro, as rumored earlier. The Redmi Note 8 could be powered by Helio G90.

At the MediaTek G90 series launch event in India last month Xiaomi India head and VP Manu Kumar Jain confirmed that Xiaomi will launch a new Helio G90T powered phone in India.

To remind you the G90T features MediaTek’s HyperEngine game technology to boost the mobile gaming experience, supports up to 10GB of LPDDR4x, CPU speeds of up to 2.05GHz, 64MP single camera and multi-camera combinations, quad pixel technology for night shot mode, triple-ISP design and AI facial detection and the power to accelerate AI-camera applications.

HyperEngine technology on the G90T offers Intelligent network prediction, Dual Wi-Fi Connections that allows a single smartphone antenna to be connected to two Wi-Fi bands (2.4GHz/5GHz) or two routers simultaneously, Call & Data Concurrency so when your smartphone receives a call it won’t drop the data connection. You can defer a call without leaving the game, Rapid Response Engine that uses touch acceleration to improve in-game action-to-display speeds and the Resource Management Engine intelligently directs device resources including CPU and GPU for optimum performance and automatically delivers smooth, fluid, high-performance frame rates in games and more.
