Amazon announces new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 with Snapdragon 805

Amazon has updated its Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet. It has a that same 8.9-inch ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) display, but now it is powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, instead of Snapdragon 800 on last year’s Fire HDX 8.9. It runs on the new Fire OS 4.0 Sangria based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with 5P f/2.2 lens and a front-facing 720p HD camera. Amazon Fire HD 6 and new Fire HD 7 announced, starts at $99

Amazon has introduced the Fire HD 6 and has also upgraded last year’s Fire HD with a faster processor. The Fire HD 6 and H7 have 6-inch and 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel displays, faster 1.5 GHz quad-core processors, 2MP rear and a VGA front-facing camera. These run on Fire OS 4 Sangria based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both these have 1GB of RAM and come in 8GB and 16GB variants. These don’t have LTE support. Lenovo A7-30 tablet with voice calling went on sale in India back in June for Rs. 9,979. We brought you the unboxing and the photo gallery of the tablet recently, here are the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8382 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali 400-MP2 GPU and has 1GB RAM. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) multi touch IPS display. Pre-order for Nvidia Shield Tablet with 4G LTE and 32GB storage goes live

Metis Learning, an education startup has launched Eddy G70, successor of Eddy that was launched earlier this year. It is an Android-based learning tablet for kids that comes with over 160 of the learning apps. It is based on Android 4.2.2 with an overlay of the proprietary Athena OS that is created specifically for children. Metis has partnered with Intel and Amazon for the tablet. Nvidia accidentally confirms HTC Nexus 9 in legal docs

Reports and leaks about the HTC Nexus 9 have been looming the online world for a long time now. Today, NVIDIA may have inadvertently revealed and confirmed the existence of the Nexus 9 tablet. A leaked court documents from NVIDIA in which they claim Qualcomm and Samsung are infringing on their GPU patents not only makes mention of a Nexus 9, but reveals the manufacturer Google will be partnering with HTC for the same.
