Samsung responds to Nvidia, counter sues over false benchmark results

Samsung Electronics is filing a countersuit against Nvidia, after the latter alleged Samsung of infringing upon GPU technology in September. Now, the South Korean tech giant is accusing Nvidia of misleading consumers by revealing false benchmark test results for its Shield Tablet in comparison with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Android 5.0 Lollipop factory images for Nexus 5, 7 WiFi (2012 & 2013) and 10 now available

Immediately after it started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop over-the-air (OTA) update, Google has released factory images and binaries for the Nexus 5, WiFi variants of both Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 7 2013 and the Nexus 10. Factory images and binaries for the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 6 are not available yet. Google released factory images for Nexus 9 and the Nexus Player last week. Google has started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop over-the-air(OTA) update for Nexus 5, WiFi variants of both Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10. Update for the 3G/LTE versions of the Nexus 7 2012 and 2013 and Nexus 4 haven’t started yet. The Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9 have received a minor update to address bugs. Now the tablet has surfaced on GFXBench database that reveals the specifications of the tablet. According to the listing, the tablet has a 7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit SoC with Adreno 306 GPU and Android 4.4.4 (KitKat). Panasonic Eluga SPanasonic has launched Eluga S, the company’s latest smartphone in the Eluga series. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.4 GHz True Octa-Core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Yahoo acquires video ad platform BrightRoll for $640M

Yahoo has scooped up video ad platform BrightRoll for $640M in cash. BrightRoll will continue to operate independently “with Yahoo’s additional investment and global support.” The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2015.
