I just stumbled over the iTunes page and got to know about the celebration Apple is preparing for.
Yes, Apple will soon cross one billion downloads of applications available across Apps store and then it would be celebrating the 1 billion apps download mark by giving away huge amount of gifts. When the Indian phone fanatics came to know about the release of the Apple iPhone 3G in India, they are all were all excited and so was Apple who expected to see great sales in the largest cellphone market in the world.
But that was not to be the case. When the iPhone 3G was released on Vodafone and Airtel, it disappointed a lot of awaiting customers due to it’s high price of 700US$. Even the people who bought their iPhone 3Gs couldn’t use it fully due to the lack of 3G networks in India. A senior Airtel executive said that iPhone sales have yet to reach 20,000 handsets. Finally the phone was made official at MWC 09 at Barcelona this February ..
The price of the phone is expected to be Rs.23500 according to the dealer . Not yet confirmed though

Its a short report for all those guys out there who are worried about the availability of mobile numbers in India. MTS – The newly launched mobile operator in partnership with Sistema Shyam Teleservices Limited (SSTL) in Tamil Nadu is offering 1 million free talk time to each individual customers under a special offer wherein a customer needs to recharge his MTS mobile with Rs. 499 worth recharge card and he will be given free talk-time of 1 million minutes for calling to its own network limiting to 150 minutes of talk-time and 10 free national SMS each day.
