Twitter launches Periscope live streaming app for iPhone

Twitter has launched Periscope, a new app for iPhone that lets you stream live videos. You can sign up using Twitter and share the broadcast link to your followers, but you can’t watch the stream directly on Twitter yet. Twitter silently acquired Periscope earlier this year. This app competes directly with Meerkat, and the Periscope app lets you replay the broadcasts when it’s over, which the Meerkat app lacks.
