Following the launch in Mumbai, Airtel recently launched VoLTE services across rest of Maharashtra & Goa. With this option, now Airtel users can enjoy HD quality voice calls with faster call set up time compared to normal voice calls on their VoLTE-compatible 4G handsets. Vodafone India, Idea Cellular merger complete; Vodafone Idea Limited becomes country’s biggest telecom operator

After signing agreements back in March last year, Vodafone India and Aditya Birla Group’s telecom arm Idea Cellular have announced that the merger has been completed. Idea Cellular has been renamed as ‘Vodafone Idea Limited’ and the service provider has subscriber base of over 408 million (as of June 2018) with 1 RMS in 9 circles, broadband network of 340,000 sites, and widest distribution reach with 1.7 million retail outlets. RCOM completes sale of fiber assets worth Rs. 3000 crore to Reliance Jio

Last week Reliance Communications (RCOM) announced the completion of the sale of its Media Convergence Nodes (MCNs) and related infrastructure assets, worth Rs 2,000 crore, to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIO). Today the company announced the completion of the sale of its fiber and related infrastructure assets, worth Rs 3,000 crore, to Reliance Jio.

Airtel is offering free Netflix subscription for 3 months to select Postpaid and Home Broadband users

Airtel has expanded its partnership with Netflix in India under which subscribers of select Airtel Postpaid and V-Fiber Home Broadband plans will receive a three-month gift of a Netflix subscription. Post that they can pay the Netflix subscription seamlessly, using their Airtel postpaid or home broadband bill. Existing Netflix subscribers will also be eligible for this gift. Subscribers not eligible for the gift will be able to sign up to Netflix through Airtel’s apps and pay for their subscription using their Airtel bill. These voice call packs are available for most popular travel destinations (UAE, Nepal, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, USA, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Srilanka, Bahrain, China, Canada, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, France, Netherlands and Thailand) and offer calling minutes for local calls and outgoing calls to India. Rs. 196 pack offers 20 minutes, followed by Rs. 296 for 40 minutes and Rs. 446 for 75 mins.
