Earlier today, Vodafone Idea and Airtel increased prepaid tariff and introduced new prepaid plans. Similarly, Jio has now announced that they will be introducing new All-in-one plans from December 6th, 2019.

Shortly after Vodafone Idea announced their new prepaid plans, Bharati Airtel has now released their new prepaid tariff. The new plans represent a hike in tariff between 50 paise per day to Rs 2.85 per day.

Last month, Vodafone Idea, Airtel, and Jio announced prepaid tariff hikes that will be effective from this month. On similar lines, Vodafone Idea has now announced its new prepaid plans which will be available across India starting 3rd December 2019.

Wynk Music, the music streaming service from Airtel is now reported to be India’s #1 music when considering Daily Active Users (DAU). This performance metric is driven massively by regional music streaming seeing a surge, with some languages seeing over 150% increase, popular even outside their home state.

Update: Reliance Jio has now confirmed that it will also be increasing tariffs in “next few weeks”. “As per media reports, we understand that TRAI is likely to initiate a consultation process for revision of telecom tariffs. Like other operators, we will also work with the Government and comply with the regulatory regime to strengthen the industry to benefit Indian consumers and take measures including an appropriate increase in tariffs in next few weeks in a manner that does not adversely impact data consumption or growth in digital adoption and sustains investments.”, said Jio in a statement.

At India Mobile Congress (IMC) last year and this year, Airtel showcased 5G use cases, futuristic digital technologies, and more. While some countries have started deploying commercial 5G networks, Indian telecom operators are yet to get the spectrum allocated. But in the meantime, Airtel has now said that they have started building partnerships and alliances for right 5G use cases and is also in talks for private LTE networks.

Airtel has been revising its prepaid and postpaid plans recently and back in May this year, the company launched Rs. 249 pre-paid recharge plan with Life Insurance cover and Rs. 129 pre-paid recharge plan. Similarly, Airtel has today launched its new Rs. 599 pre-paid bundle for its customers in Delhi NCR.

Update: November 2, 2019 – JioPhone Diwali Offer has been extended for 1 additional month (November). The company also said that this witnessed an unprecedented record demand during the past 3 weeks.

Airtel rebranded its TV app to Airtel Xstream back in August this year and the company launched 1Gbps Ultra broadband plan under Xstream Fibre branding last month. Following that, Airtel has now updated all home broadband plans under XStream Fibre branding and the plans now start at Rs. 799/month.

The Jio Video Call Assistant can be accessed via a 4G phone call, without the need for installing any other application. The bot is aimed at improving customer support and customer communication use cases.
