HTC has announced the Desire 820, the company’s latest phablet and the successor of the Desire 816 in India. It was unveiled at the IFA 2014 earlier this month and packs a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, powered by a octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor ( four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz per core and four clocked at 1.0 GHz) with Adreno 405 GPU / 1.2 GHz quad-core processor Snapdragon 410 processor and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat with HTC Sense 6 UI on top, that it upgradable to upcoming release of Android L. HTC Desire 816G Dual SIM launched in India for Rs. 18990

HTC has launched the Desire 816G dual SIM, a cheaper variant of the Desire 816 in India. It has the same 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, similar to the Desire 816 that was launched back in April. but this is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, instead of a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC and comes with 1GB RAM, instead of 1.5GB on the Desire 816. It is expected to launch both the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact at the event later this week. The Sony Xperia Z3 is powered by a slightly faster Snapdragon 801 SoC, has a more rounded sides and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box, compared to the Xperia Z2.
