Airtel has launched its 4G LTE trials in Mumbai, few days after it started 4G trials in Chennai. This is based on 2300MHz TDD-LTE band 40. It also offers TDD-LTE services in Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Amritsar. For existing Airtel customers, the company is offering a complimentary upgrade to Airtel 4G at same price as 3G. YU YUREKA got the Cyanogen OS 12 update (YNG1TAS0W0) based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) last month. Now the smartphone is getting a new incremental software update that is said to improve the battery life of the smartphone. The update doesn’t change the Android version from 5.0.2, but the smartphone is expected to get the Android 5.1.1 update soon. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Indian variant (G925I) is now receiving a new software update. The update is 161.84MB in size and changes the baseband version to G925IDVU1AOE2. The update brings around bug fixes, improvements in performance and stability.

PhiComm is the latest Chinese smartphone maker that is planning to enter India to tap the growing smartphone market. The Shanghai based company is eyeing to enter India by launching its brand of devices by the middle of June, as per a latest Economic Times report.

This is aimed at organizations that lets them run and manage high-definition video meetings for any conference room. Google has launched Xolo Chromebook and Nexian Air Chromebook in India. Both these have a 11.6″ (1366 x 768 pixels) IPS display and are powered by a 1.8 GHz Rockchip 3288 Quad-core processor based on ARM Cortex-A17 CPU and has ARM Mali-T764 GPU. These have 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal storage with expansion slot. The Nexian Air Chromebook has rugged splash-proof design.

Microsoft has launched the Lumia 540 Dual SIM in India, as we expected. It was announced last month and packs a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim. It has a 8-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide angle lens.

Today it has launched a new Rdio Select service that lets you listen to endless stations without ads or skip limits and also download 25 songs per month that can be replaced once per day at Rs. 60 per month. The same plan costs $3.99 in the US. Rdio also offers Rdio Unlimited plan that offers unlimited downloads and option to stream any song without ads at Rs. 119 per month.
