OPPO has announced the F3 Plus, its latest and greatest in the Selfie Expert lineup. On paper, the F3 Plus seems like a really interesting device especially in terms of the cameras where OPPO has even paid attention to the rear camera despite being a selfie focused smartphone. However, specs are one thing while real life performance is another. We got to spend some time with the device and here are our impressions.

OPPO just launched F3 Plus, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘F Series’ at an event in India, as it had promised. The main highlight of the smartphone is its 16-megapixel front-facing camera with 1/3.1-inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture along with an 8-megapixel secondary front camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens for capturing better group selfies. It also has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, Sony IMX398 sensor and dual phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) technology.
Technology is a great enabler. Smartphones have enabled selfies to reach mainstream along with social media and people are now wanting more and more features and quality for their selfies. Here is what we think has been missing from selfie phones and how these would be overcome in the near future.

OPPO launched its selfie-centric F1s smartphone in India last year for Rs. 17990. We had seen several versions of the smartphone since then, including a Rose Gold version most recently. Even though this has a familiar design as some of the smartphones with a unibody design, there are a lot of components that go into making the device what that might not be revealed on a regular specs sheet.
