OnePlus has released the Oxygen OS v2.0.1 OTA update for the OnePlus 2 smartphone. This includes several improvements and fixes, including patches for Stagefright security exploit, battery performance improvements, SIM card import/export fixes and more. When we tested using Zimperium’s Stagefright Detector app it said the device is not vulnerable even before the update. OnePlus One gets OxygenOS 1.0.2 update with Stagefright security patches, latest vulnerability not fixed yet [Update: Fixed in OxygenOS 1.0.3]

OnePlus 2 OxygenOS 1.0.2 Stagefright

OnePlus released a minor Oxygen OS 1.0.2 update to fix Stagefright security exploit last week. But this doesn’t fix the latest vulnerability in the Stagefright library (CVE-2015-3864) that was reported last week. As you can see from the screenshot, this is confirmed by the Zimperium’s Stagefright Detector App that got updated to add detection of the latest vulnerability. OnePlus One Bamboo StyleSwap cover was launched in India months after the smartphone was launched in the country. This time the company has decided to launch the Style Swap covers for the OnePlus 2 along with the smartphone. This comes in four options –  Kevlar, Bamboo, Black Apricot and Rosewood. Unlike the OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2 doesn’t require any tools to open the back cover. OnePlus also launched flip cover and other accessories in India on Amazon.in.

OnePlus 2 Battery Life Test

We reviewed the OnePlus 2 smartphone earlier this week, and here are the battery test results of the smartphone. The OnePlus 2 packs a 3,300 mAh built-in Li-Po battery, slightly bigger than the OnePlus One’s 3,100 mAh battery. Even though it has the same 5.5-inch 1080p display seen in the OnePlus One, this has 1500:1 contrast ratio and has a powerful Snapdragon 810 SoC, which might affect the battery life. Ola to offer an on-demand OnePlus 2 experience at your doorstep

OnePlus 2 64GB storage variant with 4GB RAM will be available for purchase in India from 4PM today, exclusively on Amazon.in for Rs. 24,999 with invites. The first batch of invites will also start rolling out from today. Ola just announced an exclusive partnership with OnePlus to offer an on-demand experience of OnePlus 2 this month in 6 major cities across India including Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. Last month Xiaomi partnered with Uber to deliver Mi Note smartphones using the Uber app on-demand in Singapore and Malaysia. OnePlus is quickly turning out to be a household name. It just took OnePlus about 12 months to become a hero from a zero.  The company’s marketing strategy with all the social media hype and of course, the invite system made sure that the demand was always soaring through the roof.

With their first device, OnePlus set out on a mission – to offer great performance, while still keeping the price tag very affordable. OnePlus announced its flagship OnePlus 2 smartphone earlier this week, which is coming to India on August 11, exclusively on Amazon. We already brought you the first impressions, unboxing and the camera samples, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 64-bit 20nm processor that has four bigger ARM Cortex A57 cores clocked at 1.8GHz per core (under-clocked from 1.96 GHz) and four smaller ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.56GHz per core with 630 MHz Adreno 430 GPU. OnePlus 2 Camera Samples

The OnePlus 2 was announced earlier this week and it brings in improvements to the camera compared to the Oneplus One. While the resolution remains the same at 13 Megapixel, the camera gets OIS (Optical Image Stablilization) and Laser Autofocus along with the Dual-LED flash of the original.

OnePlus 2 Hands On: Two times the charm

A device that practically redefined what to expect from a handset priced at par with any mid-range smartphone. The OnePlus introduced to us and to an extent made us believe in their philosophy to ‘never settle’. So when the company announced that it is about to introduce a follow up, the expectations were sky high. Like the original, the company opted to reveal the handset piece meal instead of a big bang launch in one go. This meant that when we went hands on with the device, there was no element of surprise with the focus lying more on experiencing the product than just the admittedly competent hardware specifications. OnePlus 2 supports both FDD 1800 MHz and TDD 2300 MHz 4G LTE bands in India

OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 2 smartphone yesterday. On the official website, including the OnePlus India website only the FDD-LTE bands were mentioned initially. Now the company has updated the website to add list of TDD-LTE bands. So the OnePlus 2 supports both TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz) and FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) for India.
