Nokia N97 caught with the G1, iPhone 3G, E75 and E71

Here are more pics from the Nokia N97 Launch Event in Bangalore. We had a chance to take some pics of the Nokia N97 with the HTC G1, iPhone 3G, E75 and E71. The N97 and G1 are damn close in terms of size.

HTC G1      – 117.7 x 55.7 x 17.1 mm

Nokia N97 – 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9 mm

Some say the N97 is bulky,  but you will be surprised if you see this handset in person. Its not bulky considering the fact that it has a full keyboard in addition to the touch screen display.

Nokia is calling its phones mobile computers. Nokia N97 is certainly a mobile multimedia monster.Even a 2 year old kid called the N97 a laptop when he looked at the pictures of the phone.With over 32 GB of inbuilt memory and a microSD memory card slot, the N97 can store hours of music and videos. I am really excited about watching movies on its 16×9 inch screen.Also the tile angle of the screen seems interesting.

The Nokia N97 QWERTY Keyboard

Welcome to Day 4 of Search for N Contest to win Nokia N97. The N97 has a revolutionary keyboard.

Today’s question : What are the first six letters in the modern day keyboard layout ? There are a lot of interesting things about the keyboard on the phone.Its got 3 rows of keys which are nicely spaced apart.The first question I asked N97 Designer, Axel Meyer was about the space bar on the QWERTY keypad.The space bar is pretty tiny and finds it place on the right side. Normally one would expect a larger spacebar and also positioned at the center. But Axel suggested that I use the keyboard for a while and see how it worked. After I used the space bar on the right, i actually found it easy to use. It seems that this new keyboard follows haptics effectively(Haptics is study of human touching behaviour)

Nokia N97 to be available on EMI to HDFC and Citibank Customers

Nokia is doing a multi-city launch for the Nokia N97. After it was launched in Delhi, now it has been launched in Kolkata by Bollywood Actor Rahul Bose. The exact price of the phone has not been revealed even now . But when we contacted a Nokia Concept Store in Chennai, they hinted at a price of Rs.36,000 approx. In order to justify this price and also make it lighter on consumer pockets , Nokia is going to offer EMI options to N97 customers and has tied up with HDFC and Citibank to provide a 3 month EMI option at 0 % interest in select cities. Nokia N97 vs Apple iPhone 3G Comparision with Pics

At the Nokia N97 Event we got a chance to test the iPhone 3G along with the N97.Since the N97 is seen as a iPhone Killer or even iPhone 3G killer from Nokia (5800 achieved great success as an iPhone killer atleast in the music phone market ) . The situation is interesting now because both iPhone 3G and N97 are going to selling in the same price band of Rs.30000-35000.($600 approx for unlocked phones).

This comparison is mostly hardware related.Hope you enjoy the comparison and the pics

Nokia N97: Glory In Images

Here it is, the most awaited and anticipated Nokia device of this year. The N97 is upon us, with its glorious 3.5″ touchscreen, its numeric keyboard, its amazing slide and tilt design, its widgets and 32GB of internal memory. The N97 is here, and here are some images of the device in its awesome white color, as well as a few poorly-lit images of the N97 black silver color (the last 3 being taken by the Nokia 5800).
