MTNL to use common APN for both 3G and GSM networks


Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has announced that they would use common Access Point Name (APN) for its GSM post paid and prepaid customers across Delhi and Mumbai. The Access Point Name is a configurable network identifier used by a mobile device when connecting to WAP/Web services, MMS or Internet services on GSM/3G networks. MTNL Delhi Unlimited 3G Plans at Rs.750 per month

BSNL was the first to Unlimited 3G plans in India. Now MTNL Delhi users can rejoice as the operator has come up with Promotional Offers for providing Unlimited 3G Data to both Prepaid and Postpaid users.These plans from MTNL are slightly more expensive compared to BSNL but its more than welcome ! Do find the Prepaid and post paid tariffs after the break. You can get unlimited data for as low as Rs.750 per month if you pay 6 months rental in advance(Rs.750×6=Rs.4500). 3G launched in India atlast but only on MTNL Delhi

3G has finally come to India .. Its always been a distant dream for India to get 3G Network speeds..

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh launched the 3G services of MTNL Delhi under the banner of “Jaadu” or “Magic”

A. RajaCommunications and IT Minister  was also present at the launch event and made a video call from his 3G phone and demonstrated the capabilities of 3G services.

Motorola is setting up the network for the services.
