Google Lens in Assistant and Photos can now detect cat and dog breeds

Google made an announcement that the Lens in both Assistant and Photos would get new features like improved support for recognizing animals and this ability to detect cat and dog breeds is now rolling out to users. Google Lens coming to more Android and iOS devices [Update: Now rolling out to iOS devices in Google Photos]

Update 2: As promised, Google has started rolling out the Lens feature through Google Photos for iOS devices as well. You just need to update the app to version 3.15.0 via the App Store. It is rolling out in batches from today and will reach everyone by next week.

Google Lens update now rolling out for Pixel and Pixel XL through photos app

Google Lens which was showcased at the Google I/O back in May and was demoed at the Pixel event earlier this month was one of the many announcements that caught the attention of many. With some room for further improvement, Google Lens is an interesting feature to have on smartphones. Now, it seems like the update is being rolled out to the first-gen Pixel and Pixel XL through Google Photos app.

Google Assistant now lets you type, adds new languages, to get Google Lens visual AI intelligence

Today at the Google I/O, Scott Huffman, vice president of engineering for search announced that Google Assistant on phone will now let you type, in addition to voice commands. Google Assistant will also get history within the conversation soon so that you can see what you’ve previously asked.
