Apple reportedly ordered suppliers to produce 80 million iPhones 6 units

Apple has asked it suppliers to manufacture between 70 million and 80 million of  iPhones by the end of the year, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. This company is expected to launch two iPhones this year in 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screen and the above figure will be a combination of these two variants.

Apple expands two-step verification to more countries including India

Apple has rolled out its two step verification feature for Apple ID to more countries including India. The feature was introduced in the US, UK, Germany, Italy, Japan and others in March 2013.

Apple’s iWatch to reportedly come in Sports and Designer models

Last week Reuters reported that the iWatch will boast a 2.5 inch screen. Today, another report is suggesting that the iWatch will come in two different models. Pocketnow is stating that the iWatch will come in ‘Sports’ and ‘Designer’ style with former being rectangular with a rubber strap and later being round and stainless steel.

Quanta to begin manufacturing Apple iWatch with 2.5″ screen, Pulse Sensor in July

It is an open secret that Apple is working on a wearable device. The iWatch as it has been termed by industry pundits is expected to tie in heavily with Cupertino’s Healthkit push. Now, via a report published by Reuters, we have access to a few more details about the upcoming smartwatch.

The report suggests that Apple has adopted a seemingly large 2.5 inch screen with a ‘slightly rectangular face‘. What that means remains open for interpretation but we suspect that it refers to rounded corners. Owing to the size of the display, the fascia is expected to protrude from the band instead of sitting flush with it. Apple has made app browsing simplified by adding ‘Browse by Category’ section to both the desktop and iOS App Store. The introduction of this section enables users to easily click on a certain category. Prior to this, users had to ad to select their chosen category from a drop-down list in the top-left of the App Store .

Apple drops the ban hammer on apps that reward IAPs for social sharing, video views

Applications that unlock in-game/app achievements for watching videos will also suffer the same fate. Apple reportedly acquires social recommendation search app SpotSetter

In a bid to boost its mapping service, Apple has scooped up social search engine app SpotSetter, according to Techcrunch. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by the company. Founded in 2011, SpotSetter provides personalized recommendations for places to go such as restaurants, stores and entertainment venues.
