Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey has announced in a tweet that Twitter will no longer allow political advertising globally on the platform. In his tweet, he explains that the reason for this is that Twitter believes that “political message reach should be earned, not bought”.

Samsung’s Q3 2019 profits down 55.7% YoY, mobile profits up 31.5% YoY due to strong Galaxy Note 10 and A series sales

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q3 2019 that ended September 30, 2019, in which the company has made operating profit of 7.78 trillion won, down 55.7% YoY. This due to continued weakness in the memory chip market, even with stronger smartphone sales and improved utilization in mobile OLED screens, said Samsung. It reported revenue of 62 trillion won, down 5.2% YoY from 65.46 trillion won last year. Apple reports $13.7 billion profit on $64 billion revenue in FY Q4 2019, iPhone revenue down 9% YoY

Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $64 billion, up 1.74% over last year with a net profit of $13.7 billion, down 2.83% YoY and earnings per diluted share of $3.03, up 4.1% for the financial year Q4 2019 that ended September 28, 2019. During earnings call Tim Cook said that it was Apple’s highest revenue in a September quarter ever, and the company set new Q4 revenue records in the Americas and rest of Asia-Pacific and saw further improvement in revenue trends in Greater China. macOS 10.15.1 update with Airpods Pro support, new emoji and more released

LG Q3 2019 profits down 30.45% YoY due to weak smartphone sales

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 15.7 trillion won (US$ 13.15 billion) for the third quarter that ended September 30, 2019, which is up 1.8% compared to the same quarter last year. It posted profits of 781.4 billion won (US$ 654.4 million), up 19.79% YoY, while net profit was down 30.45% YoY to 345.7 billion won. Decrease in profits is primarily due to losses from mobile communications in the quarter, even home appliance, home entertainment and business solutions business units posted strong results.
