Orange, a French telecom group has announced that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with Bharti Airtel to explore the possible acquisition of Airtel’s subsidiaries in Burkina Faso, Chad, Congo Brazzaville and Sierra Leone in Africa. Airtel, which is on a roll by expanding its 4G services to a number of cities in India is planning to launch 4G branded smartphones in India, as per a latest report from PTI.
Airtel has launched its 4G LTE trails in Hubli and Dharwad in Karnataka. It already launched 4G trails in Delhi, Hyderabad, Vizag, Madurai, Chennai, Coimbatore and Mumbai. India’s leading private telecom operator Airtel is all set to launch 4G trials in the country’s capital city New Delhi and adjoining areas later this week. Airtel bought the spectrum from Qualcomm some time back. The 4G network is expected to go live in New Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) in a few days.
