Dell Venue 8 Unboxing

We might have reviewed the Dell Venue 8 Pro way ahead of its Indian reveal, but the tablet trio, that includes two other Android tablets, launched only a while back. Dell’s Venue 7 and 8 were Android tablets with two different screen sizes with largely the same specifications inside. Powered by an Intel processor, these tablets are placed at the mid range segment of the marketplace, which is the most popular segment for Android tablets these days. The Venue 8 is priced at Rs. 17,499, which might be a bit high when compared to the competition like the new Nexus 7, but is it good enough? It was officially announced earlier this month and packs a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera without flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. This is the company’s first phone powered by a MediaTek chip. Samsung has launched the Gear Fit in India along with the Galaxy S5, Gear and Gear Neo. Samsung introduced the Gear Fit, the company’s first wearable fitness band at the MWC 2014 last month. The Gear fit has a wide 1.84-inch (432 x 128 pixels) Curved Super AMOLED display. It also has Pedometer, Heart Rate sensor, Accelerometer and Gyro sensors. Samsung Gear and Gear Neo launched in India for Rs. 21900 and Rs. 15900

Samsung has launched the Gear and Gear Neo smartwatches in India along with the Galaxy S5. Samsung unveiled the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit at the MWC 2014 last month. The Gear 2 is the successor of the first Galaxy Gear, that was introduced at the IFA 2013. Unlike the first Android-based Galaxy Gear, this one runs on Tizen OS, optimized for wearable devices. It has the same 1.63 inch (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display that we had seen on the Gear. It has a 2-megapixel auto focus camera capable of recording 720p HD videos. Samsung Galaxy S5 to be priced between Rs. 51000 and Rs. 53000 in India

Samsung announced the much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona earlier this year and it missed out more features that were rumored than the ones it packed. there wasn’t a 2K display or a premium build quality which was among the many features it missed. Nevertheless, Samsung knows the market better than anyone and they have come up with the Galaxy S5 with a bigger display, better camera and battery.

Samsung India Country Head Vineet Taneja just confirmed that the Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H) would be powered by an Octa-Core Exynos processor in India as expected, similar to the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3. It would be powered by a Octa-Core Exynos 5422 (A15 1.9 GHz ＋ A7 1.3 GHz) processor with ARM Mali T628 MP6 GPU and Heterogeneous Multi-Processing and has XMM6360 for HSPA+ ( up to 42 Mbps) connectivity. Since it has Heterogeneous Multi-Processing, it can run combination of up to eight cores to provide optimum performance. LG Electronics has partnered with Airtel and Qualcomm to set up LTE experience zone in Bangalore for customers to experience 4G LTE. Airtel introduced 4G on mobile first on iPhone 5c and 5s for customers in Bangalore last month. LG launched the 4G LTE variant of the L2 G2 in India earlier this month starting at Rs. 46,000.
