ZTE launches a range of low to mid end smartphones in India

ZTE has announced its arrival to the Indian market at an event in Mumbai today with an onslaught of a total of six devices and four 3G data cards. With these new devices, the Chinese mobile giant aims to capture some marketshare and mind share in the world’s second fastest growing smartphone market. While data has proven that the smartphone market is just a miniscule part of the whole mobile phone market in India, it is indeed growing faster than any other. This lucrative opportunity has provided us, the consumers with a lot of choices and that includes various Chinese companies like Gionee, Huawei, Lenovo and now ZTE. The company has launched four mid range devices in the Blade range as a part of their complete portfolio roll out.

ZTE Open first commercial Firefox OS device goes on sale in Spain

Mozilla partnered with several operators worldwide to bring devices running on Firefox OS. The Firefox developer devices Keon and Peak manufactured by Spanish company GeeksPhone went on sale in April. There was a report that thes Firefox phones are expected to launch in 9 countries. Now the Telefónica has launched the ZTE Open in Spain that was unveiled at the MWC 2013. It is now on sale from Movistar stores in Spain priced at 69 Euros (~US$90) (inc. VAT). ZTE to enter Indian Smartphone market with 5 new phones by October 2013

ZTE Telecom India, owned by of China’s ZTE Corp has announced that it would enter the Indian market with its range of smartphones and tablets later this year. The company would launch 5 smartphones ranging from Rs 5,799 to Rs 14,999 These smartphones would be available in all the major by the end of October, said the company. The company also plans to launch their tablets followed by it. ZTE Grand X2 with 4.5-inch 720p display, Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ processor announced

ZTE has announced the Grand X2, successor of the Grand X IN that was unveiled last year. The Grand X IN was powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Medfield Z2460 processor, but the Grand X2 has a 2 GHz Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ processor with hyper-threading. It has a 4.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and runs on Android Jelly Bean OS. It has a 8-megapixel auto focus camera on the back with LED flash and 1-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera has zero shutter lag and is capable of capturing images at 24 frames per second. ZTE signs patent agreement with Microsoft for Android and Chrome devices

ZTE, popular Chinese smartphone and tablet manufacturer has announced that they have signed a patent licensing agreement with Microsot that covers ZTE devices running on Android and Chrome OS Platform, according to a recent report from Reuters. Microsoft had already signed agreement with others Android OEMs such as  HTC, Samsung, LG and Acer and 15 others. Microsoft doesn’t have any deal with another popular Chinese Smartphone maker Huawei. ZTE GEEK with Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ debuts at IDF

Over at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing, ZTE has announced its first phone powered by the new 32nm Intel Atom Z2580 processor. The Clover Trail+ platform delivers performance that is twice as fast as the platform that it replaces in terms of computing power. The GPU core is three times faster and Intel has focussed on reducing power consumption.

ZTE Grand Memo hands on

ZTE had a press conference at the Mobile World Congress on Day one of the event for the announcement of its new phablet device known as the ZTE Grand Memo. It was presided over by ZTE executives as well as Qualcomm executives who shared that the Grand memo will be the first device to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor. So, we were intrigued and wanted to take a closer look at the device, and hence we did a photo gallery initially but now, here is the hands on video below.

ZTE Open with Firefox OS, 1 GHz processor announced

ZTE has announced the ZTE Open with Mozilla Firefox OS. It is just an entry-level smartphone with a 3.5-inch (480×320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1GHz MSM7225A Snapdragon S1 processor. It has a 3.2MP fixed focus camera and packs a 1200 mAh battery. The Firefox OS has integrated Facebook and Twitter apps,. You can download more apps from the Firefox Marketplace. ZTE Grand Memo with 5.7-inch HD display, 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor announced

ZTE teased the Grand Memo at Hong Kong last month, now the company has officially unveiled the device at MWC 2013. It features a 5.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). We have seen the Optimus G Pro, HTC One and the latest Asus Padfone Infinity, but this is the first Smartphone to be announced with a Snapdragon 800 processor.  It has 13MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 1MP front-facing camera. ZTE to launch Tegra 4-powered Smartphones by mid-2013


ZTE has announced that they would launch smartphones that are powered by the latest Nvidia Tegra 4 processors. Nvidia announced the Tegra 4 processor with 72 GPU cores and 4 ARM A15 CPU cores at the CES 2013 last month. The Tegra 4 chip supports 4G LTE voice and data through Icera i500 modem, and ZTE also have plans to launch LTE smartphone with LTE support . ZTE Grand S hands-on Video


ZTE, popular Chinese phone maker unveiled the Grand S at CES 2013, and you saw the photo gallery of the phone last week. Here we have a hands-on video that shows the hardware and the software of the device. The Grand S is the ZTE’s first handset to feature a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display. It has a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 pro processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). There is a 2MP front-facing camera at the top.

ZTE Grand S revealed, sticks 5inch 1080p screen in a 6.9mm thin frame

ZTE just revealed its latest smartphone, the Grand S at CES. Equipped with a 5inch 1080p display which is fast becoming the norm in high end handsets, the phone runs on a 1.7Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. The OS of choice here is Android 4.1 JellyBean. A 13MP camera is found over at the back which is capable of recording video in 1080p. A 2MP camera is located at the front for video conferencing.

Internal specs also include 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage which can be further expanded with a microSD card. The handset is particularly thin and measures just 6.9mm. Making a handset that thin means that the company had to make sacrifices and the battery life suffers. We’re not sure how well the 1780 mAh battery will be able to keep up with that high resolution display. We’ll be bringing you our hands on impressions with the ZTE Grand S shortly.

ZTE already confirmed that they would unveil the Grand S with a FHD 1080p ( 1920 × 1080 pixels) display at CES 2013. They also said that the phone would be the thinnest 5-inch phone with a FHD display. Now they have confirmed that the phone would measure just 6.9mm thick and would come equipped with a 13MP camera.
