Vivo X60 series 5G with Snapdragon 870, ZEISS optics launching in India on March 25

Vivo recently confirmed the launch of its X60 series smartphones in India on March 25th, a few days after the global launch on March 22nd. This will include the X60 and X60 Pro that were introduced in China back in December last year, but this will replace the Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC with the Snapdragon 870 for the global markets. Vivo S9 with 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED 90Hz display, Dimensity 1100, 44MP + 8MP dual front cameras and S9e announced

Vivo just announced S9, the company’s latest smartphone in the S series in China, as it had promised. It packs a 6.44-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1300 nits brightness and 91.04% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to narrow borders, is the first smartphone to be powered by  the latest MediaTek Dimensity 1100 6nm processor with support for 5G SA/NSA, VC cooling which is 30% bigger and the heat dissipation area is increased by 136% compared with the previous generation. The phone packs up to 12GB of RAM, 64MP rear camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle camera along with a 2MP mono camera. Vivo S9 with Dimensity 1100 6nm SoC, 44MP front camera teased ahead of announcement on March 3

Update: Vivo has posted the image of the S9 that shows triple rear cameras. Next to the flash it says AI camera and 1.79 to 2.4 aperture and OIS. It shows a sleek metal frame, gradient finish in the back in one version and the other version has a blue finish. It has also confirmed 44MP front camera along with a soft selfie flash for night time selfies. Vivo patents foldable smartphone with penta rear camera setup

Folding smartphones still have a long way to go before they really become mainstream. That may change this year as Chinese smartphone manufacturers will reportedly be releasing their first foldable smartphones this year. According to a patent filed in August 2020, Vivo is developing a foldable smartphone that has its screen folding inwards.

vivo confirms Android 11 Funtouch OS 11 update for range of smartphones in India

vivo launched its V20 smartphone in India back in October last year running Android 11 based Funtouch OS 11. The vivo X50 Pro and the V20 Pro smartphones got the update in India last month. Now it has confirmed that the beta update will roll out for its older phones in India starting this January. It features a 6.51-inch HD+ Halo FullView display, comes with 13MP main + 2MP depth + 2MP macro triple rear cameras, 8MP front camera and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which unlocks the phone in just 0.22s, but this is powered by Helio P35 SoC instead Snapdragon 460 is the predecessor. Vivo just announced X60 and X60 Pro smartphones in the new X60 series in China. The phones pack a 6.56-inch FHD+ HDR10+ E3 AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 32MP camera inside the punch-hole and 92.7% screen-to-body ratio. The Vivo X60 series are the first to be powered by Samsung Exynos 1080 5nm SoC with built-in 5G.

Vivo X60 Pro with 6.56-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Exynos 1080, 12GB RAM, quad rear cameras with Zeiss optics gets certified

Vivo already confirmed that it will introduce its X60 series of smartphones with Zeiss optics on December 29th. Now the X60 Pro has been certified by TENAA with the model number V2047A revealing complete specifications of the phone. This will be the first phone to be powered by Samsung Exynos 1080 5nm 5G SoC.
