Sony has introduced Cherry Pink Xperia Z5 Premium smartphone in China, few months after it introduced Pink version of the Xperia Z5. The Pink version of the Z5 Premium joins the chrome, gold and black colors that have the same glass finish on the back. The new variant is targeted at women customers. A month after rolling out Android Marshmallow update for Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and the Z5 Premium last month, Sony Mobile has started rolling out Android 6.0.1 update for its Xperia Z2 and Z3 series. The update is currently live for the Xperia Z2 (D6503 only), Xperia Z3 (D6603 only) and Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803 only). These phones were part of the beta program and the final version of the firmware has the same build number (23.5.A.0.570) as beta. Sony Corporation today announced that it plans to split out and establish its semiconductor business as a wholly owned subsidiary in April 2016. The company is also exploring to split its Imaging Products and Solutions Sector. In addition to Game & Network Services, Mobile Communications, Pictures, Music, Sony split out its TV business in July 2014 , followed by its Video & Sound business in October 2015. Sony today at the annual Game Developers Conference announced that PlayStation VR (PS VR), a virtual reality system that makes use of PlayStation 4 (PS4), will launch from October 2016. It also revealed the the final consumer version of PS VR, including all of the contents that comes in the package, which doesn’t include the Playstation camera ($60) and Move controllers ($50). Sony has launched its XB650BT Extra Bass Bluetooth Headphones in India. It was introduced at the CES 2016. It has 1.18 in neodymium driver unit for EXTRA BASS, promises 30 hours of battery life and also has NFC for One-touch pairing. “The adjustable headband’s structure is optimised for deep bass playback, providing a stable fit to minimise vibration caused by punchy bass notes and soft cushion ear pads provide a largely airtight seal for direct bass transmission,” said Sony.

Sony has started rolling out Android Marshmallow 6.0 update for a couple of devices. First up, the update is coming to the Japanese variants of the entire Xperia Z5 lineup which includes the Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and the Z5 Premium. The update will soon follow the global variants in the coming weeks.
Sony has unveiled a new Future Lab Program which is the company’s R&D initiative under which it aims to share concept prototypes that are in the development stage with the users. The program will then take user feedbacks to refine the product.

Sony launched its flagship Xperia Z3+ smartphone in India back in June last year for Rs. 55,990, now the smartphone is available for just Rs. 25,999 in the country from Amazon.in. Sony didn’t change much in the Xperia Z3+ from the Z3. The major change was Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor, but it comes with the same 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display and has Sony’s Omni balance design with glass back.
