Samsung phones typically have a smaller DPI setting that reduces the amount of information that can be displayed on any given screen estate. Now, it has been discovered that Samsung smartphones such as the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge as well as others running on Android Marshmallow can be tweaked thanks to the native DPI scaling feature.

Samsung reclaims DxOMark throne with the Galaxy S7 Edge

Samsung shot to the top of the DxOMark ratings last year which is one of the top sites for camera benchmarks. First with the S6 edge and later on with the S6 edge+. Shortly after, Sony’s Xperia Z5 challenged the smartphone and finished with an equal score which resulted in a tied first place between both the smartphones. Now, Samsung has a new champion in the form of the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Benchmarks – Exynos 8890 Octa

Samsung launched its flagship Galaxy S7 smartphone in India last week priced at Rs. 48,900. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have its benchmarks. It is powered by Octa-Core 14 nm Exynos 8890 SoC which has combination of four custom designed CPU cores, two of them clocked at 2.6 GHz per core, other two clocked at 2.3 GHz per core and four ARM Cortex A53 CPUs are clocked at 1.59GHz per core. It has Mali-T880 MP12 GPU and 4GB RAM LPDDR4 RAM. It has a 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

Samsung Galaxy TabPro S 2-in-1 launched in the US and UK for $899.99 and £849

Samsung announced the Galaxy TabPro S, it’s first 2-in-1 Windows 10 Tablet with a 12-inch (2160×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 6th Gen Intel Core M processor and 4GB of RAM at the CES 2016 earlier this year. Now it has launched the device in the US and UK. It comes bundled with a full-sized keyboard cover that has a flexible hinge enables optimal, dual-angle viewing and connects via Pogo pin that eliminates the need for pairing or charging separately and also has a touchpad. Tablet shipments in India increased 13% in 2015, 4.4M units sold: CMR Report

A total of 4.4 million tablets were shipped in India, registering a growth of 13% compared to 2014, according to CMR’s India Annual Tablet PC Market Review, CY 2015.

Samsung Galaxy S7’s manufacturing cost revealed at $255: IHS

The Samsung Galaxy S7 was manufactured for $255,  according to a new report published by research firm IHS. This is the same amount the company required to make the Galaxy S5 two years ago.

Over 100,000 Samsung S7 and S7 edge sold in first 2 days in Korea

Samsung started selling the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones in over 60 countries, including its home-ground Korea starting from March 11th. Korea’s Yonhap News is reporting that Samsung sold more than 100,000 units of Galaxy S7 series of smartphones in South Korea, in first two after the sales started. Samsung has announced that it will showcase three new experimental projects from its C-Lab program at the ongoing SXSW. The company will unveil Hum On app that transcribes hummed melodies into musical scores, Waffle, a social media platform that enables collaborative content creation and Entrim 4D, a VR accessory that lets users feel the movements of the on-screen action.

Samsung today announced that it has started the global roll out of its flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones, including the US, Europe, Singapore, Australia and Korea, starting from today. These smartphones were launched in India earlier this week for Rs. 48,900 and Rs. 56,900, respectively and go on sale in the country starting from March 18th.
