Nokia makes walk and drive navigation free on its smartphones, doubling size of mobile navigation market

Espoo, Finland – Nokia has today announced plans to release a new version of Ovi Maps for its smartphones that includes high-end walk and drive navigation at no extra cost, available for download at www.nokia.com/maps. This move has the potential to nearly double the size of the current mobile navigation market. The new version of Ovi Maps includes high-end car and pedestrian navigation features, such as turn-by-turn voice guidance for 74 countries, in 46 languages, and traffic information for more than 10 countries, as well as detailed maps for more than 180 countries.

Nokia to Offer Free Turn By Turn Navigation

In late 2009, Google announced that it would be giving free navigation on the Motorola DROID/MILESTONE in the North American region.

Around 2 years ago, Nokia introduced us to the Morph concept mobile phone. We have also seen the Nokia 888 Concept. both these concepts showed us the possibilities of Nanotechnology through which phone can be transformed from one form to the other.

Apple Requests Ban on Nokia Phones in US

After Nokia’s request to the ITC (International Trade Commission) to ban pretty much every Apple product including the iPhone, iPod and MacBook, Apple have now come up with their own ban request.

Google Maps with GPS on the Nokia N900

Open Source means that you never have to wait for any company to release software in a rigid fashion. We are talking about the Nokia N900 and the Maemo platform.

There is no Google Maps for Maemo so far and we are doubtful if Google will even make one as they are concentrating on Android.  So here is a Browser based Google maps application for Maemo which has come from the Maemo Community. Its got almost everything even Google Latitude

Evernote Finally Lands On S60v5 Devices

Ah! Finally, a proper Evernote client for Symbian has emerged, although it currently supports only S60v5 Devices viz Nokia 5800 XM, Nokia N97, N97 Mini, Nokia X6 etc.
