OnePlus, a technology startup announced the OnePlus One, the company’s first smartphone after a lot of hype. We managed to get an invite to buy the phone. The phone packs top-end specifications and premium build, but comes at a competitive price of just $299 for the 16GB variant and $349 for the 64GB variant. OnePlus One with 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 announced, starts at $299

OnePlus, a technology startup that started teasing the OnePlus One smartphone has finally revealed the design and complete features of the phone as it promised. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 ×1080 pixels) Full HD LTPS display from JDI with Corning gorilla glass 3 protection, powered by a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 13-megapixel camera Sony IMX214 stacked sensor with 6-element lens, f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash 4K video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

OnePlus One StyleSwap covers leaked alongside phone photos and box contents

OnePlus One continues to maintain the hype that it managed to create during MWC 2014 and the phone is all set to be unveiled completely on April 23, 2014. With less than a week to go, leaks are common and this time we have a leaked photo showcasing the Swappable back covers.

OnePlus has taken a different approach in introducing the phone to the world as it has announced a feature every week and the swappable back covers was one of its features, but they hadn’t showcased the back of the device then. But now, the back covers have leaked in full glory in what is rumored to be the press render.

The Image was a older one, but now they have upgraded the processor to Snapdragon 801.

OnePlus One features complete, but the first look is still elusive

OnePlus is a new company from China with executives from Oppo and they claim to be working on the “perfect” smartphone. Instead of revealing the smartphone first, OnePlus has been slowly, but steadily building hype around their product – OnePlus One. Pete Lau’s OnePlus and Cyanogen will partner to create the OnePlus One

Pete Lau, the distinguished engineer from Oppo, had announced earlier that he left the company to pursue something new. It was known that it involved CyanogenMod and its CTO Steve Kondik, but now we know what exactly they are upto. Pete Lau is now the CEO of a new hardware start up called OnePlus, and unsurprisingly, its software partner will be Cyanogen Inc. which will power its phones, starting with the flagship “OnePlus One”. No, we are not making that up.
