LG VELVET with 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 845 launched in India for Rs. 36990

LG has launched VELVET, the company’s latest mid-range 4G smartphone in India. Compared to the 5G version that is powered by Snapdragon 765G, the 4G version gets the Snapdragon 845 SoC. Other specifications are similar, including a 6.8-inch 20.5: 9 aspect ratio Cinema FullVision Full HD+ OLED display with Waterdrop Camera that houses a 16-megapixel camera, 6GB of RAM and a Waterdrop Camera camera design in which 48MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 5MP depth triple rear cameras and a flash are arranged in a vertical direction as if water droplets are falling. LG VELVET with 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED display reportedly goes on pre-order in India for Rs. 36990

LG unveiled the Velvet smartphone back in May and it was introduced in the US in July. Now Supreme Mobiles, an offline retailer has posted that it has started taking pre-orders for the smartphone ahead of the India launch. It also mentions the price of the phone as Rs. 36,990 for the single screen and Rs. 49,990, if you need the additional Dual Screen accessory. It also mentions 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version. LG said to be working on dual-screen smartphone “Wing” that could swivel sideways [Update: Surfaces in video]

Update: August 26, 2020:  The LG “Wing” Dual-screen phone has surfaced in a video, thanks to Android Authority. This shows of the use cases that shows navigation info on the main screen and the second swivel screen shows music player and an incoming call.

LG VELVET with 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 765 5G starts rolling out in the US

LG unveiled its LG VELVET smartphone back in May in an online event and it started rolling out in South Korea from May 15th. Now it has announced the roll out of the phone in the US at $599 (Rs. 44,660 approx.) from AT&T beginning today, July 22. It will be available from T-Mobile and Verizon later this summer.  LG VELVET 5G UW with access to its 5G Ultra Wideband network and 5G low-band network will be available from Verizon later this year. LG VELVET with 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 765 5G, 48MP triple rear cameras price revealed

LG already confirmed that LG VELVET on May 7th in an online event and also confirmed the specifications of the smartphone. Today the company has confirmed that the phone will be sold in South Korea 899,800 won (US$ 734 / Rs. 55,780 approx.) starting from May 15th and will start pre-orders from 8th to 14th May. LG VELVET with Snapdragon 765, curved design, Raindrop triple rear cameras to be announced on May 7

LG has finally confirmed its VELVET smartphone in an online event in Korea on May 7th before it goes on sale mid-May. The company posted a  15-second video invitation that visually shows the colours of the phone using four colour drops highlighting the ‘waterdrop camera’. Last week LG confirmed that its upcoming phone with a new design will be called ‘LG VELVET’. Today it has released an official video that shows the design of the phone and also confirms so of the specifications including Snapdragon 765 with 5G support and the video shows water drop notch, 3D arc design where the edges of the display and rear are symmetrically curved and “Raindrop” camera. LG’s upcoming smartphone will feature new design with front-back symmetrical curves, Raindrop camera [Update: LG VELVET]

Update: LG has confirmed that the phone will be called ‘LG VELVET’ that will emphasize distinctive designs and “tactile” elegance to set itself apart. It will be the first LG device to implement the company’s new branding strategy for its mobile devices, moving away from alphanumerical designations in favor of familiar and expressive names. LG says that the name “velvet” is intended to evoke images of lustrous smoothness and premium softness, two key characteristics of the new phone.
