Moto G gets a minor firmware update in Europe, brings back OTG, fixes mobile network issues

Moto G 176.44.1 update Europe

Motorola has started rolling out a minor Android KitKat update for the single SIM variant of the Moto G in Europe. This update brings back the USB on-the-go (OTG) support for the users with USB drivers and also fixes mobile network loss for some users. Some Moto G users in India have reported SIM related issues in the dual SIM version recently, after the KitKat update. This update might fix those issues.

The over-the-air (OTA) update is about 7.2 MB and the version of the update is 176.44.1.en.GB for the UK variant. The build is dated February 6th, 2014.

Check out complete changelog of the update below.

  • Fixed wallpaper cropping issue – Fixed an issue which could cause the home screen wallpaper on some devices to be cropped after rebooting the phone.
  • Resolved USB OTG support issue – Resolved a USB On The Go support issue that prevented Moto G from writing data to a connected USB storage device.
