OnePlus Buds 3 gets FCC certification ahead of launch

OnePlus is gearing up to release its next wireless earphones, the Buds 3, as indicated by their recent appearance on the FCC certification website with the model number E509A. The listing discloses details about the design and features, aligning with leaked renders from last month.

The Buds 3 will maintain the design language of the previously launched OnePlus Buds Pro 2. We can expect a metallic finish on the in-ear module and stem, with each earbud weighing 4.77g. The case will house a 520mAh battery with 4.5W input and 1.2W output, while the buds will have a 58mAh battery.

For the audio, the earbuds are anticipated to have a 10.4mm woofer, a 6mm tweeter, and 48dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) in the upcoming TWS earphones. They will boast an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, and the matte-finished case will have an IPX4 rating.

With ANC off, the Buds 3 will provide 9 hours of battery life, similar to the Buds Pro 2, extending to 33 hours with the case. With ANC on, it will last for 6 hours, extending to 22 hours with the case. Connectivity options will include Bluetooth 5.3, Google Fast Pair, and dual connectivity support.

While not officially confirmed, considering the trend with the Buds Pro 2 and OnePlus 11, it’s likely that the Buds 3 will debut alongside the OnePlus 12.
