OnePlus Watch 2 with 1.43″ AMOLED screen, Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, Wear OS surfaces

Rumours about the OnePlus Watch 2 surfaced last month, which said that the smartwatch will launch in 2024. Now the first set of renders and the specifications have surfaced, thanks to @OnLeaks.

Coinciding with earlier rumours, the second generation smartwatch from OnePlus is said to retain the circular dial, and the renders show a metal casing, two buttons on the sides, speaker grill for Bluetooth calling, and a rubber strap in black and white colours.

The Watch 2 is said to feature a 1.43″ AMOLED screen, compared to a 1.39″ inch screen, and the smartwatch is expected to be powered by instead of ST32 chipset.

It is expected to retain the custom RTOS platform, similar to the original OnePlus Watch and not switch to Wear OS which is present in the Pixel Watch 2 and the Galaxy Watch 6. This might probably due to the battery life concerns with the Wear OS.

It should come with IP ratings, and GPS. We still don’t have the battery capacity yet. It is not clear if we can expect the OnePlus Watch 2 early next year alongside the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R and OnePlus Buds Pro 3.

Update: According to reliable OnePlus leaker Max, the OnePlus Watch 2 will run Wear OS 4.
