OnePlus Watch 2 with circular display could launch in 2024

A new OnePlus smartwatch may be released in 2024, as reported by tipster Max Jambor. The original OnePlus Watch wasn’t much of a smartwatch; it was more like a fitness tracker, with good battery life and basic health data. However, it had limited features and lacked attention to detail. It also tried to copy Wear OS but fell short.

OnePlus made some improvements over time, but the watch didn’t leave a lasting impression and was discontinued a while ago. It hasn’t seen any updates since early 2022.

Now, he suggests that OnePlus is working on a new smartwatch for 2024, possibly called the “OnePlus Watch 2.” It’s expected to be an improvement over the first one, which is a low bar to surpass.

The big question is whether it will run on Wear OS. OnePlus might have to go in its own direction this time, as OPPO used Wear OS only for square watches. We don’t have much information about the specs or launch date yet, except that it will have a circular display. We may learn more about it in the coming months, possibly around the same time as its predecessor.

To recall, The OnePlus Watch features a 1.39-inch AMOLED display, SpO2 monitoring, GPS, 5ATM + IP68 water and dust resistance. It’s powered by a 402mAh battery that offers up to two weeks of usage and runs on a proprietary OS based on RTOS.
