OnePlus and BOE partner to unveil new display on Oct 24

OnePlus has announced a partnership with BOE to jointly create a new breakthrough in mobile phone screens which will be introduced at an event in Chongqing, China on October 24.

The invite says Sunrise·East! In 30 years, we have gone from lagging behind to catching up to surpassing, on October 24th, BOE Display joined hands with OPPO and OnePlus to witness a historic moment for Chinese screens, says the company.

Even though the company doesn’t reveal any other details, leaker Digital Chat Station says that the company will reveal a 2K screen for OnePlus phone that will offer up to 3000 nits peak brightness. The OnePlus Open, which was introduced yesterday, has up to 2800 nits peak brightness.

The leaker also says that the company plans to bring the screens with over 3000 nits peak brightness to 1.5K screens. These will use, 2160Hz PWM dimming + Single pulse DC, he added.

Based on earlier rumours, the screen will be first used in OnePlus 12 that is expected in a few months. We should know more details when the display is introduced next week.
