My Phone Model is K810i. i can browse the web from my default browser. But it could from Opera browser.. How can i browse from Opera??

I bought the sim 2 days ago. After calling cc and changing apn name, i was able to connect. I am getting a message after each session “Hi. You have 25600kb free usage and 50 min free video calls left.” Is anyone getting exact free data remaining? Is there any number to check remaining data usage? Because i have used data exceeding free limit according to my mobile’s data counter. But both data and main account balance are stationary from 2 days, except when i make voice calls the main account balance reduces.

Ps : I am using Nokia 6500 slide.

I think 3 G signal is available in chennai everywhere. I Tried it in my friends phone in my office and that phone was able to receive 3 G signal.

My Phone is not. May be there is some problem with my Firmware..

I am using nokia 6233 and my friends phone which it detected 3 G is nokia 5310 express music.

Ca you help how to fix. this. my firm ware is also uptodate as per nokia site.

I am using a 3G sim from Chennai BSNL in my Nokia E 71 . It proves a lot better than the 2G edge. Videos could not be downloaded with most edge operators I tried with viz. Airtel, Vodafone Chennai, Idea and Docomo as fast as it results with 3G . The tarrrif rates too are comparatively cheaper and highly affordable. I would like to suggest the BSNL authorities it would highly benefit the commons if some sort of spl’pack/voucher is offered for unlimited usage of data services as it is presently available in Tamil Nadu Circle prepaid Rs. 230/- The quality and reach of video calls need improvement. E61i has single band 3G 2100 Mhz.. I’m not sure if 3G will work .. But if 3G works then Mobile TV should work and anything else as well

Speed is good . Depends upon the locality and availability of 3g. My mobile shows 3.5G that mean HSDPA is available. In some places it shows 3G where speed is little less.

Bsnl has started 3g in kota (rajasthan) yippie! Works flawlessly with my 5800xm and n78. Just use access point as ‘bsnlnet’ and get full net access. Use the rs 50 plan of 3g and get video calls and 3g on any bsnl 2g sim.

I got 3G running on my iPhone 3G on BSNL in Chennai. After tethering, the download speed was 1MB down .25MB up. I think this is mainly because the service is new and nobody is using it.

If you are wondering if the BSNL 3G works on the iPhone 3g – Yes it does

Tethering – For me it involved some hacks. I had tethering setup automatically for Airtel, but the option just dissappeared. Something about unknown carrier and the iPhone. I had to hack it to get the tethering working again. The APN for tethering is the same and you can use http://help.benm.at/generator.php to get it working again. You will be surprised at how snappy it is …

BSNL reliability is still suspect. So think about that before switching.

The biggest issue for me though the stupid usage SMS. Every time you use the data it sms’s you with how much you used. For a person like me with auto email checking turned on this is a nightmare. Does anybody know how to stop the usage sms ?

Overall I was surprised by the fact that bsnl did do a half decent job with 3G and tethering yeah !

Anyone getting speed in excess of 1mbps? I am only getting 400kbps~50KBps. Speedtest.net shows 0.3mbps only.

Hi , for 5800 settings (internet) send nokia n97 to 58355 and save the bsnl internet settings alone . It works really fine , and the customer care really sucks , dont ask help from them .. you will never get it

i’ve been using 3G for a week now… sadly it works only when i’m outdoors.. inside d house, its bak to good old GSM so network’s really gotta improve.. but then when it connects to 3G its just great… havnt tried TV yet.. BTW i’m in chennai..

actually in Chennai BSNL 3g working very small area , if your 3g phone status shows H symbol , you can make video call, otherwise you cannot make the video call but the stupid customer care people they did not know anything , the Chennai BSNL cheating the all customers,

Since the schemes are new,most of the workers are not fully aware of the plans,but all of them are helpful and attendive!

u need to select bsnl internet as the access point whenever u connect to internet, then it connects using 3g network, it should work fine.

BSNL 3G may be good or bad. But the voice quality of their mobile network is so bad that even with 3G or 4 G technology the voice breaks. BSNL does not have any intention to correct the problem and their officers are not helpful or just refuse to understand the problem. May be, they all wish to help the private players??

Internet speed is awesome, It comes 787 kbps for me.While browsing in system.
As said as above i am also not able to use the BSNL Mobi tv facility.
It is not at all connecting and registering.
I have tried sending mails to Apalya.com but there is no response form the support team. Thank god! I didn’t lose any of my bugs from my Balance.
If u are buying 3G for:
TV service please don’t buy it..!
For internet.. Its Ok. (charges are bit expensive).
Video Calls. (Have didn’t tried yet..)

I bought 3G sim card in coimbatore, and it is working only in Gandhipuram. I guess BSNL has equipped 3G in only one tower in the entire coimbatore district. I hope by the end of 2010, 3G services will be available in the other important areas in coimbatore. When i bought the sim card, the BSNL franchise misguided me that, it will work everywhere in coimbatore city. And before buying i asked the BSNL customer care, and they told me that BSNL 3G is enabled for 30Kms from the city (Gandhipuram). To my shock, i been checking it all around coimbatore after buying, it is working only in Gandhipuram. And now when i called the customer care people, they told me to wait for some month before 3G is available in other areas. I would like request BSNL authorities to look into the problems, and make sure the franchises dont give false promises.

As for as i have checked, it is working in Gandhipuram till Sivanandha colony. And the signal goes off in saibaba colony. And it works till railway station, and in ukkadam it comes back to 2G. I stay in Kovai pudur and there is absolutely no tower. And there is no 3G signal in anywhere in mettupalayam road.

Will 3G work without any scuffles with the iPhone 3G ( jailbroken ) ? And what’re the speeds you get with the iPhone?

U cant just come to a conclusion that Tv doesnt work, u need to install it properly in your handset.then u can see the live tv channels in ur mobile itself,
i am using it everyday and it works well and good.am using it in chennai as well as coimbatore.
so first install it and then comment on something!

Am from coimbatore and i am using 4 (3 in cbe,1 in chennai) different 3g bsnl numbers .i am using it in chennai as well as coimbatore.

Coimbatore is equipped with sufficient 3g towers and it works well in coimbatore city limits ie, saravanampatty in north,kurichi in south, singanalllur in west and perur in east,still works beyond these areas as well.. and also in ooty,coonoor as well.

i have used video calls,data services and also mobile tv in various areas of cbe and it works perfectly fine.

it all depends how u configure ur handset .so first install the settings completely and then try and then comment ..

bsnl 3g is far ahead of others in terms of technology and coverage, customer service alone has to be improved- thats the only drawback at BSNL.

I Get a letter from Chief General Manager offering 3 G Sim as gift offer along with my land line bill (23664755) for using BSNL BROAD BAND and Landline.
After filling the relvant attached forms and other requiremnet.

I am informed by the BSNL KK Nagar Chennai office that they are yet to get the 3 G SIM.

Can we not expect better service for atleast a new Product launch.

For Mobile tv to work in Phone, U must first have gprs settings from BSNL working in your phone.

For GPRS,

u can either call customer care and request them to send the settings OTA
or
u can visit bsnl website and enter your phone number in the link to get the settings .
you will get 4 msgs ,save them with saving bsnl internet as a default setting,others are to be simply saved.

then request for mobitv settings in customer care.

U need to just type my3gtv or mytv- am not sure, as a sms to 53838,am not sure abt the number,u can check with customer care,later for the reply msg ,u need to send ur phone model ,eg – nokia n95 to the same number, u will receive a link for downloading the MOBILETV application.

I recently got a N900. I would like to know how you configured the BSNL 3G on it.

1. When I put the SIM card, I dont see 3.5G and it only shows 3G
2. How do I set the access point in N900 as tyou know that internet connectivity comes automatically here and does not let me edit access points. At the most I can choose ‘BSNL Internet connection’ as the connection.

I tried putting the sim in my N85 and ran auto setup wizard. Even there it does not allow me to access 3G and says packet data not available.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have Nokia n900 .. I have migrated from 2g to 3g in cellone(by sending 2 SMS’s)

Now on the phone screnn it does show 3G.

However I am unable to access the internet.

I did try sending SMS,,,,,,, Nokia n900 to 58355

I got the message Your handset has been configured successfully( I was not prompted to accept the settings )

How do i get it working?

1) Is there any recharge i should do after migration?

2) What is the username and password..for the BSNL INTERNET profile in Nokia n900

is it your 10 digit cell number… or should i prefix with 91 or something

@ mohit, yeah it does work. just type the APN as gprssouth.cellone.in or north/east/west depwnding on where you’re using it. restart the phonw and it (surprisingly) works without any problems (yet).

3g works great on iPhone but dissapointed about no support by bsnl on mobile tv on iPhone… In bangalore I am getting speeds upto 1.5mbps almost every place

hi guys ! will these speeds work whn we use the 3g plans in Laptop.? i need an unlimited 3g plan but its very xpensive–2999 per month !!!! my god!!! for bsnl..isnt it soo costly..?? and hw much we hve to pay for the data card alone..?? its a very shame thing tat bsnl imposing data charges for mobitv after subscribing to the packages..hidden costs.. Ur views on this frends..?

How to Activate GPRS on your bsnl mobile 2G/3G ?
GPRS can be activated in 2 ways : i) Through SMS ii) Manually

i) Through SMS
SMS MAKE MODEL-NO. to 58355 to receive the configurations.
eg. SMS NOKIA 5330 to 58355

Save all the configurations that you receive through SMS, and select bsnl-internet as the default setting…

ii)Manually

Go to Settings > Phone>Connection>Access point>Create New Access Point

Connection /Profile Name: bsnl-internet
Data bearer : packet data
Access Point Name/APN : gprssouth.cellone.in
Username : 9194xxxxxxxx(mobileno with 91)
Prompt Password : No
Password : 9194xxxxxxxx(mobileno with 91)

I recharge 549 (1GB day 5GB night)but i can use only 500mb in night.now my dedicated a/c is zero.i spoke with cc but till now the prblm not solvd

but i am not able to use net thru PC suite on my laptop with mobile connected. i am using “bsnlnet” APN.

i m using nokia e72 as a modem & my network carrier is BSNL ….
in orissa i found that when i test my speed it shows that the dw. speed is 1.75mbps but in noon time it shows 2mbps max… but it hard to display….& u also didn’t belive that it is over a 2g network….because i use a 2g sim……so its quite happy to say the internet speed in berhampur is greater than chennai……

Hi prabagar, i faced the same issue couple of times. I get “You cant use GPRS service now” whenever 3G / EDGE connection is established. Last time it got fixed automatically after few days, but BSNL folks also dint have a solution. Apparently, this morning I sent *123*6# to enquire data balance, and after that this error started coming. May be they are interlinked, have you managed to find any solution.

i ve a 3G connection which is supplied by BSNL OFFICE BERHAMPUR, but it not works properly.Thats very slow.Even it takes aound 3 to 4 min to open a page. And the videos are not played properly.
So i got bored about that.

and whats the output displayed there. bytes…..time…….ttl….

This is Ranjit from coimbatore,tamilnadu using BSNL 3G Sim (09489612548)in my NOKIA C5.

Problem i face is – GPRS Settings that is sent by BSNL automatically does not allow me to save,it just gets deleted.
its bsnl specific issue as i checked with NOKIA CARE.

So i keyed in the settings manually for bsnlnet and wap as gprssouth.cellone.in and wapsouth.cellone.in.
also for packet server ,mentioned access point as gprssouth.cellone.in.

but even then am not able to go online.
its not getting connected..

screen goes to 3.5g,processes and just stays idle.no error msg!

i was using it in nokia 5800 without any problems.. now in NOKIA C5 am not able to go online..

also does c5 support mobile tv from bsnl3g?

i managed to get my gprs settings from bsnl office..
its actually the sim issue,it was not accepting the setting sent automatically.
hence changed the sim and received the settings then and it worked fine.
now bsnl has updated the settings..
so one will get 6 messages ie- bsnl stream,bsnl live,mms,portal,internet,wap.

and nokia c5 doesnt support live tv.. so as of now gprs is working fine…

Getting 3 mbps in lucknow.

tryed to get the configuration from bsnl. i got about 5 of them. but in n900 i see only bsnlwap and the net is not connecting even after i choose it then restart….

I had an issue with the BSNL 3g connection with my Samsung Galaxy S phone. After a lot of hiccups I can get the 3g (it shows “H” actually, HSDPA i guess). All applications are working fine except the default browser in the android OS. Opera works fine. If any one of you has any input for this please let me know. Some of the people have faced similar issues with BSNL and MTNL with their Android handsets but the discussion is diverted to some other topic(Link – http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/android/thread?tid=36db6b65e835a9d7&hl=en). Please do let me know if there exists any issue that is well known to BSNL and Android users. Thanks.

Hi Pavan, We also faced a similar issue in BSNL 3G on Galaxy S. We were unable to get 3G coverage even in areas where other phones get 3G signal

If u got BSNL 3G on samsung Galaxy s, Den plz help me out wid it. Plz temme how to get gprs setting for d same (west zone), coz when I msgd on bsnl nos. I got rply dat “Sorry no setting available for your handset”. So I wud b greatful 2 u if u cud post the procedure for activating gprs setting for samsung galaxy s. Thanks…

I was able to resolve the issue of BSNL 3G not working with the default android browser. The problem was with the APN settings. Apparently the proxy IP and port are supposed to be empty and no values should be given to them. Only the APN name should be set as “Bsnlnet” (should be the same across zones). All the rest of the fields in the APN settings are supposed to be left empty. I had some values in these proxy ip and port because of which i faced some issues. Now after removing them, I am having no issues in browsing the net and working with apps on my Galaxy S phone. If anyone has issues and want some testing to be conducted on my phone to figure out the issue are welcome. Just let me know.

else instead of sending sms for settings go to http://www.cellone.in>gprs&mms settings>select state>enter ur no & u will get the settings on ur cell…

I recently bought BSNL 3G USB Modem and Prepaid connection. I am in Chennai Saidapet. The net speed is very very low not even able to open a single page. For loading google.com site its taking more than five minutes and its connecting through EDGE. Can any one help me to solve this issue and to increase the speed.

I’m using Samsung Galaxy S. I’ve successfully migrated from Post paid 2G Sim to 3G sim and also getting the symbol of 3G on my phone. The problem is that I’m not able to install the BSNLLive and BSNLSTREAM settings provided by the BSNL. It asks for a PIN and when I enter the PIN then nothing happens.!!! Also the configuration mesage I got from BSNL is shown as “NOT SUPPORTED” by Galaxy S. Internet, market app is working fine though…Please help….

By grace i got 28 mbps download speed and transfer rate is about 12mb/sec.The upload speed is about 4mb/sec.Bsnl is absolutely suberb………..
