Idea 3G Tariffs and Plans

Idea Cellular has finally launched its 3G services in India in 3 circles Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh , Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. They have also announced their 3G tariffs and plans. They have announced sachet plans for light usage and there are usage based, time based plans. There are also separate plans for heavy users who wish to use USB dongles.The various plans are listed below

Sachet Plans

These plans are just for those who want to get a taste of 3G. We don’t understand what one can do with 10MB on 3G though.

Here you have plans which offer free data ranging from 100 MB to 5GB.

Time Based Plans

Similar to Airtel , Idea also has Time Based plans which remind us of  the days when one used to pay by the hour to browse at a cyber cafe. The time based plans seem attractive if you suddenly wish to download some data quickly.

USB Dongle Tariffs

The company has separate plans for users who would use the 3G connection on their PC or laptop. The tariffs are similar to Usage based plans but is overage is cheaper in Dongle plans at only 5p/10Kb.

Idea is also offering a Data Rate Cutter at Rs.55 which will reduce overage charges to 1p/10kb which is valid for 30 days. What do you think of these tariffs ? Can Idea beat them all as it claims ?

    More or less close to other Tariff plans from other 3G provider in India.. It’s good to see all major player coming up with the 3G service but I’m still looking forward to see a reduced 3G price in some time near future…

      still 3g is taking so much time to come in all cities. …and rates are so high which was not expected. ..hope as the compitetion increases rates wii go down….

    I have bsnl pre-paid 1GB @ rs 98/- plan and I am using bsnl 3G. So what more I need. That’s value for money. And this shud be base price for 3G all over india. I also have bsnl unlimited download broadband plan (2mbps plan) @ rs 750/- per month. I am disapointed that it’s actual download speed is 200 kbps(maximum).Now I am going to discontinue my broadband plan, because when mobile operators in India are not adquetly ready for broadband and 3G services they should not start these services. Telecom compnies in India are only fooling and looting Indian ppl. Thats shame.

    wait and watch 2g and 3g rate will be same ……??!!! i hope so..

    idea make some sense and become really sirji yaar………

    I tell you u the real story behind the 3.1 to 21 mbps speed.
    Actually they committed only for 256 kbps on the paper not an mbps, these are term and conditions.
    So do not go for there ads. They are making you fool.

    i am srikanth i was purchased idea net set from 3 months but i am not satisfied because my net set very very slow no fast so what i am do?

    Hey guys. There is a trick, I dont know if it will work for you. I have nokia 5800 and I use 3G for free and all the time. What you have to do is go to connectivity setting and change your network setting to UMTS mode. Now if you have gprs it will work as 3G . It works for me. I have 2GB@98/- scheme and this way it turns into 3G .I know you wont believe but its true. May be its because of promotional stratgy.

    idea server r very slow. you must go for reliance. it work better. i think competition in between varios operators will make it cheaper. wait… till they get reduced price.

    one more operator who thinks who’ll milk 3G by offering 3g to the masses by getting them to taste 3G speeds. Listen idea… the real people who need 3G speeds are heavy downloaders. People who dont need volume dont need speed most of the times. unlimited isnt even an option. and superfast connection with a paltry bandwith…what a joke. Waht an idea sirjee…. :D
