Telegram has rolled out a new update introducing an AI-powered text editor, expanded poll features, support for Live and Motion Photos, bot management tools, and a document scanner for iOS.
AI Text Editor
Telegram now includes a built-in AI editor within the message bar, designed to help users refine and modify their messages directly while typing.
The editor allows users to:
- Fix grammar
- Rewrite text in different styles
- Translate messages into other languages
It supports multiple writing styles such as Formal, Short, Tribal, Corp, Zen, Biblical, and Viking. Users can also apply a selected style during translation.
This feature runs on open-source AI models and uses Telegram’s Cocoon Network, where requests are processed in a confidential environment without access to user data.
To use it, the ‘AI’ icon appears above the send button after typing longer messages.
Expanded Poll Features
Telegram has introduced several updates to polls, improving how they are created and managed in groups and channels.
Users can now:
- Attach media or locations to questions and answer options
- Add descriptions to provide additional context
- Allow participants to suggest new responses in active polls
- See voter identities for each option
- Disable revoting to lock results
- Shuffle answer options for each user
- Set time limits for polls
- Hide results until the poll ends
- View results without voting (for creators)
Poll settings now support more flexible quiz formats, including multiple correct answers. Creators also receive notifications when users vote in polls with visible responses.
A dedicated tab in group and channel profiles now shows both active and past polls for easier access.
Live and Motion Photos
Telegram now supports iOS Live Photos and Android Motion Photos, allowing users to send animated images that play across all Telegram apps.
Users can choose from three playback styles:
- Live: plays once when opened
- Loop: plays continuously
- Bounce: plays forward and backward repeatedly
Bot Creation and Management
Telegram has expanded its Bot API to allow users to create and manage bots more easily.
Users can:
- Create bots with minimal setup
- Allow bots to create and manage other bots
This update enables bot development and deployment without requiring coding knowledge.
Document Scanner on iOS
Telegram for iOS now includes a built-in document scanner that allows users to capture and process documents directly within the app.
The feature supports:
- Scanning documents using the camera
- Combining multiple pages into one file
- Automatic background removal and cropping
- Exporting files as PDF
- Manual adjustments such as rotating, filtering, and border editing
Security Alert for Unofficial Apps
Telegram now displays a warning on profiles that use third-party apps. This alert indicates that messages sent to such accounts may have lower security compared to official Telegram applications.

The update is rolling out with Telegram version 12.6.0 or later.
