Google buys Foxconn patents related to communication technology

Google has scooped up number of communication technology patents from Foxconn for an undisclosed amount, reports The Wall Street Journal. The Taiwanese based electronic manufacturer said that it has sold unspecified number of patents to Google.

Russian website hi-tech.mail.ru has posted the press images and the specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Dual SIM (SM-G355H). According to the leak, the Galaxy Core 2 would have a 4.5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) LCD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and would run Android 4.4 (KitKat). Videocon Telecom to launch 4G services by December 2014

Videocon Telecommunications plans launch its 4G services using FDD-LTE technology by December 2014, according to a report by ETTelecom. It would initially launch the services in Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. At the 4G World India conference, Videocon Telecom CEO Arvind Bali said to ETTelecom that it plans to launch the services between December to January and would launch it in 10 towns initially.

TRAI issues regulations for minimum 2G and 3G download speed

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released draft regulations on Standards of Quality of Service for Mobile Data Services back in 2012 since there was no quality of service standards for the mobile data services compared to wired Internet such as broadband. It released a benchmark and asked operators to document data collection process for each Quality of Service parameters such as success rate, Average Throughput, Latency and more. Samsung’s latest flagship device, the Galaxy S5, was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona and eventually arrived in Indian shores earlier this week. With a sky high price of Rs. 51,500, we set out to find if the device is really worth the price. While we will let you know the conclusion in our full review of the phone, in the process, we took the really intriguing 16 MP camera for a spin. We had purchased the international variant in the US and tested the camera in and around San Francisco to see how it fared in different lighting conditions. Microsoft launches Remote Desktop Preview app for Windows Phone 8.1

Microsoft has released preview version of its Remote Desktop app for the recently announced Windows Phone 8.1. The company had launched the Remote desktop app on Android and iOS in October last year. It allows users to control your PC from a Windows Phone device while on the go, but it requires Windows Phone 8.1 that is currently available only for developers.
