Airtel launches new All-in-One Broadband Plans with up to 17 OTTs, 350+ TV channels starting at Rs. 699

Airtel has launched three new all-in-one plans to take on JioFiber. The company said that these are built for the evolving entertainment needs of today’s connected homes. There are three monthly plans – Rs. 699, Rs. 1099 and Rs. 1599 that offer 40Mbps, 200Mbps and 300 Mbps speed, respectively. Airtel has launched two new pre-paid plans with bundled 3 months subscription to Disney+ Hotstar Mobile. Google to acquire 1.28% stake in Airtel, invest up to $1 billion

Airtel today announced that it signed a long-term, multi-year agreement with Google to accelerate the growth of India’s digital ecosystem. As a part of the deal, Google as a part of Google for India Digitization Fund will make an investment in Airtel, which will include a $700M equity investment (1.28% ownership in Airtel) and a corpus of up to $300M that will go towards implementing mutually agreed commercial initiatives over the course of the next five years. Airtel conducts India’s first 5G trial in the 700MHz band with Nokia

Airtel today announced that it has successfully conducted India’s first 5G trial in the 700 MHz band in partnership with Nokia using 5G trial spectrum allocated to Airtel by the Department of Telecom. This comes after the company’s last month announcement that said that it has conducted India’s first 5G network demonstration in a rural geography in Bhaipur Bramanan village on the outskirts of Delhi/NCR. Airtel hikes prepaid tariffs by up to 25%; plans now start from Rs. 99

After revising  its postpaid plans back in July, Airtel today hiked its prepaid plans, which now start from Rs. 99 for a 28-day plan, which is a 25% increase.
