OPPO has announced A77, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘A series’ in Taiwan. It has similar specifications as the OPPO F3 that includes a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750T processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with ColorOS 3.0, but this has a single 16-megapixel sensor on the front instead of dual front cameras on the F3. OPPO today confirmed that it will introduce R11, a new high-end smartphone in the ‘R Series’ in China soon. It also confirmed that the successor of last year’s R9 smartphone will come with 20-megapixel front and rear cameras and also teased a new image that shows dual rear cameras. OPPO just launched F3, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘F Series’ at an event in India, as it had promised. It is the smaller variant of the F3 Plus that was launched back in March. It has the same 16-megapixel front-facing camera with 1/3.1-inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture along with an 8-megapixel secondary front camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens for capturing better group selfies that is present on the F3 Plus. OPPO launched the F3 Plus in India last month for Rs. 30,990 on Amazon.in, Flipkart and offline retailers. We already brought you the review of the smartphone, here we have its battery life test results. The F3 Plus packs a 4000mAh built-in battery and has VOOC Flash Charge, similar to some of its flagship smartphones.
OPPO are investing heavily into the selfie game. There is a huge demand for selfie centric smartphones in China and lately India too has been showing similar signs. I have seen several users buying smartphones solely due to the focus on selfies. However, as a smartphone, there are several other parameters to be considered in order to truly gauge the value of a smartphone and that is exactly what we will be doing in this review.
