An LG spokesman announced that LG has done very well globally as well as in Korea. The LG has managed to sell over 120,000 units of the Optimus 3D since its launch last month on the SK Telecom network.

Samsung Galaxy S II is currently the most anticipated Android smartphone in USA and all 4 major carriers are getting ready to launch it. We recently got words from Samsung executive that SGSII will hit USA in August, so hopefully it will be announced anytime this month. T-Mobile variant was leaked recently but it wasn’t fully revealed, but now it is. Folks over at Tmo-News got their hands on first leaked shots of T-Mobile SGSII a.k.a Samsung Hercules. It comes with a 4.5 Inch SAMOLED display, Android 2.3 along with TouchWiz UI, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and a lot of other good stuff. According to report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation) the Worldwide mobile phone market grew 11.3% year over year in the 2nd quarter of 2011 (2Q11) with the worldwide shipment of 328.4 million units. But, this is low compared to the 16.8% growth in the 1st quarter of 2011 (1Q11), that had worldwide shipment of 365.4 million units. LG Thrill 4G was officially announced by AT&T back in March which is actually AT&T variant of world’s first ever 3D Android smartphone known as the LG Optimus 3D. We recently heard that AT&T will be launching it this month and July is about to end. Well, it seems that the launch is around the corner because BGR is reporting that AT&T will be launching it for $99 with a 2-yr contract but still no words on release date, but my guess is that either it’s coming in few days or probably in the first week of August. After waiting for almost 4 months, LG finally rolled out the official Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) update for the LG G2x smartphone. Sadly, this update is not available via. Over-The-Air (OTA).
Back in March, T-Mobile announced the Android powered LG G2x smartphone. This handset is the T-Mobile’s version of the popular LG Optimus 2X smartphone. LG G2x originally runs on the old Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS. Back in April, T-Mobile promised that, the powerful LG G2x will get the Gingerbread update soon. The guys at 3G Centrum have got their hands on a very interesting LG Handset. The phone which looks identical to the Android based LG Nova is running a build of Windows Phone 7. While it first appeared that a skin had been loaded over the default Android installation but so far none of the skins are as elaborate which lends further weight behind the thought that LG might be coming out with a WP7 based handset in the same shell as the Optimus Black.

We are lucky to get our hands on the LG Optimus 3D which is the world’s first 3D phone and the world’s first 3D smartphone. The 3D experience does not require you to wear 3D glasses as the phone packs a glassless/glassfree 3D display. You can also capture 3D Video footage and pictures talks to the 3D Stereoscopic camera on the back.The phone was announced this year at Mobile World Congress and the unit we are currently playing with looks a lot more stable and polished. LG has announced that the LG Optimus 3D would come pre-loaded with 3 stereoscopic 3D (S-3D) games. They have also introduced 17 stereoscopic 3D games from the leading mobile Game developer Gameloft that could be downloaded at discounted rates for LG Optimus 3D owners. LG partners with Reliance to offer new plans on Reliance 3G for both prepaid and postpaid customers on purchase of LG Optimus Black and LG Optimus 2x. These plans offer Free Voice, SMS, 3G Data and VAS services like Video calling and Mobile TV pack on purchase of these handsets. The LG Optimus Black was officially available in India this week. AT&T is one of the largest US carriers and they are offering number of Android devices. Recently, they announced two new Android devices known as HTC Status and LG Thrill 4G. HTC Status is AT&T version of HTC ChaCha which is a small device that comes with a dedicated Facebook button. On the other side, Thrill 4G is AT&T version of LG Optimus 3D which is LG’s first ever device with 3D technology.
