Microsoft is bringing Maps apps to Windows 10 Technical preview in the latest 10051 build. The Maps app looks similar to the one on the desktop as it is based on the Windows Universal app platform.

WhatsApp continues to increase its active user base. It reached 700 million monthly active users back in January earlier this year. Today the company’s CEO and founder Jan Koum revealed that WhatsApp now has 800 million monthly active users worldwide, adding 100 million users in just 3 months, faster than last time. It took 4 months to reach 700 million active users from 600 million.
Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries, in partnership with Vanguard Games, launched Halo: Spartan Strike, a touch-based top-down shooter. This is set during the events of Halo 2 within the Halo universe. In this game you lead UNSC troops through numerous missions battling against new enemies to save Earth from being overtaken, making use of weapons, abilities and vehicles including the iconic Warthog. Google is now adding a new feature that will allow users to install apps straight from search results. The app-install buttons will appear alongside links to normal websites and tapping on these buttons will take them to the Google Play store where they can install your app, then continue straight on to the right content within it.

Google has updated its Drive app for Android that now lets you share files easily from the notification shade. Once you upload a file to Drive you will receive a notification after if finishes. Now it also includes an option to share with other people for faster sharing, instead of opening the Drive app once again to share it.
