Samsung denies rumors of discontinuation of Exynos chips

While reports remain that Samsung may forgo Exynos power for its flagship phones in 2023 and possibly 2024, the firm has denied accusations that it will discontinue its Exynos chipset operation. According to the Korean Mail Economic Daily, the company claimed during its Q2 2022 conference call that “it is not true at all” that it will discontinue operating its Exynos business. Samsung starts shipment of first 3nm chips

Last month, Samsung announced that it has started production of chip based on 3-nanometer (nm) manufacturing node using the Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor architecture. Today, at an event in Korea, the company has announced that it has started shipping shipment of the first 3nm chip using the  GAA Gate All Around technology at the V1 line (EUV only) at Hwaseong Campus. Samsung 3nm chip mass production delayed due to less yield

Despite Samsung Electronics’ plans to mass-produce a 3-nanometer semiconductor foundry CPU this year, poor yield and delays in mass production are projected to limit its use to internal semiconductor manufacture rather than the company’s supply to external clients.
