Samsung has just announced the Galaxy S5 mini (SM-G800H), a smaller variant of the Galaxy S5. It has a 4.5-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display, powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with new Touchwiz UI. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, 1080p video recording and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It has IP67 ratings for dust and water resistance, similar to Galaxy S5. Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini specifications leaked

Samsung, like all smartphone manufacturers these days, has followed the trend of releasing a flagship smartphone and shortly sometime after that releasing a “Mini” version of the flagship with toned down specifications. Samsung has been following this approach for the past two flagships – Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S4.
